Gear Bag opinions

I am thinking of picking up a gear bag. Either the Ogio 9800 or the Fox Shuttle. Does anyone have an opinion on either. Or any other suggestions? Thanks.

9800 is a great bag. I have been using the same one for over 10 years. It has been used and abused and is well traveled. I would not hesitate to get another one.

Both are great. The best gear bag is the Ogio 9900, which Ogio inexplicably discontinued after only a couple years. If you can find one used in good condition (they are on eBay periodically), that's what I'd get. It's basically the superior layout of the Fox Shuttle with the near indestructibility of the Ogio 9800. The Fox Shuttle (and Ogio 9900) has separate helmet and boot compartments, while the Ogio 9800 is really just one big compartment with some dividers.

Agree with 350Scott, I had a 9900 which was great, but unfortunately the zippers all wore out. The 9800 they sent as a replacement (lifetime warranty) has been holding up better in that respect, but the 9900 was definitely a better bag for pockets and organization.

I have looked for the 9900 but can’t find one. Hopefully one will jump out at me. Thanks for the input so far. I am still undecided.

I have had the 9800's for years but am looking to pick up an FXR one. They seem to be bigger and still have the hardside and wheels for my airplane trips with my gearbag. The price is good on them too.

I find the 9800 is a heavy starting point for the 50LB limit for airplanes. If my boots didn't weigh 13Lbs, this wouldn't be an issue...

I have the klim roller and it rocks. I prefer it greatly to the 9800 I had for a while and sold.

Can't the zippers be changed? Unless you can't be bothered with that kind of stuff, that is.
