Group Buy for KTM/Husqvarna Oil Drain Tool
Group Buy for KTM/Husqvarna Oil Drain Tool
Hi All,
I contacted System Tech Racing to see if they would do a group buy on there drain tool:
http://www.systemtechracing.com/category_s/264.htm
This tool will help with the mess that's sometimes made when draining oil, and may prevent you from removing your skidplate. They require minimum order of 10, and then they will provide a 10% discount.
Alternatively Tokyo mods offered there tool:
http://www.tokyooffroad.com/product/oil-drain-tool-kit/
This would come with the bung for free if I have an order more than 2:
http://www.tokyooffroad.com/product/odt-deluxe-bung/
Please let me know if you are interested.
Mods feel free to move this, I just wasn't sure if it belonged under parts for sale as it's a group buy.

I have the SRT one. It works well. The downside with the 2 stroke is when you tip the bike over to insert the tool in the oil plug you spill a bunch of fuel.... Make sure you drain your carb after the last ride and before bringing into the garage

I'd be interested in the SRT one

It’s a what m14 pitch? Buy a brass plug, or even a mild steel bolt, drill it and punch or epoxy in a barbed 1/4” fitting. Add vinyl tubing and sort of similar.

This states M12 x 1.5. Some searches for the plug came up with this thread also.
Here's a penny tech solution:
https://www.ebay.com/itm/M12-x-1-5-to-9 ... 2050014196
You would just need an o-ring and 3/8" hose after that. If you want to get fancy you would need 3/8" barb plug, and a 12 x 1.5mm cap so oil doesn't leak out of your hose during storage.
The reason I don't like the penny tech, is you are almost at the same price, and the small 3/8" hose will take a while to drain all of the oil.

I came to the same conclusion. The SRT one has a plug that allows you to stand the bike up and then place the drain pan before pulling the plug ensuring greater accuracy with oil placement.Rider Eh! wrote:https://www.ezoilchangevalve.com/ktm.html

Re: Group Buy for KTM/Husqvarna Oil Drain Tool
For those pinching pennies, perform the same search on ebay for "m12x1.5 12mm barb". The 12mm barb will flow better than the 3/8" (9mm) and since it matches the hole in the case, that's as much flow as you're gonna get.
Then head over to Home Depot or similar for a foot of 1/2" clear vinyl hose for about $0.50. The added length allows you to fold the hose up, pinching it off so it doesn't drain until you're ready.
You will have to argue with yourself over the cost your time and fuel to travel to get the hose and waiting for the barbed fitting to arrive vs just getting the STR setup.

The voices are back. Awesome!

Well I'm going to have to close this, sorry not enough interest.
I'd suggest purchasing from SRT yourself, or Slavens Racing also has them if you want to order through them.
