LED Light Bar??

So I've installed a 6 in LED light bar to my XC-F 350. Before installing I checked the wiring and brightness of the light to an alkaline battery. Everything worked fine, the light was blinding! When I installed the wiring to my Lithium battery on the bike and added a simple on/off switch, and wired it to a rear led tail (Phantom) everything was ok....however the light bar seems considerably less blinding. Would I have lost something through the switch, or is there a difference in the lithium battery? The bar shouldn't be drawing very much power at all. Ideas?

Try checking the voltage with a multimeter at the light. Make sure you are getting the correct voltage. I do some night riding and my 16 350 xcf runs a 6" led no problems at all.

I got it!!! The switch I have has an accessory switch, it was almost working like a low beam. Switched the wires now it lights up like the sun! :smirk:

yep, you can get significant amperage drop through a switch. Its the weak point and bottleneck in most wiring design. The solution is to incorporate a relay in you design. I am surprised the switch was a issue with a LED as they are low wattage relative to halogen bulbs. You must have a really crappy switch ,a decent handlebar mounted switch suitable for a headlight should be around $25
