STOLEN...

NDP is stealing our land. They made a written reply that OHV use would be recognized in the Castle area. We now know it will not be included.

Now this post could go in Land Advocacy, but i think many do not bother browsing there. i think it being here is right.

This is a call out. If you are browsing this forum or if you are an RMDRA member than you need to do something selfless this Saturday March 4th.

If you work...you get a pass.
If you are away...you get a pass.
Extraordinary circumstances...you get a pass.

For everyone else, please just step up to the plate and participate.

The bottom line is Castle is going to be closed to any recreating involving OHV's and it also will be closed to random camping. It will not stop there, so Castle is some where you never go, so who cares it will not affect you?
It will, there is a push on again to restrict OHV and random camping in Waiporous, Maclean, Porcupine Hills, Livingstone and Indian Graves. Oh, lets not forget Rockymountain House areas.

If you want to hook up a trailer, cargo trailer, bike carrier, etc this Saturday and come out, that would be great. If you want to bring the ole motorhome out, excellent.
If you want to just come out with a bike or quad in the back of your truck, fantastic.
And if you just want to show up in any vehicle to support this injustice, please do and you will be warmly welcomed.

Thank you.

Thanks Tom, great push!

Just a note that you don't have to bring OHVs or vehicles. We are meeting at the McDougall Center, so parking is a bit of a chore.

Also just to put it out there that this is a respectful and peaceful rally. We have Minister Phillips saying she feels "threatened" by all of us violent OHV types, and is using that as an excuse to not listen.

We are making a huge push on letters that will be available for signing at the event. The RMDRA will handle the postage, so the more people that can sign the better!

Also, if you're interested in volunteering (letter drive, security) please contact me.

Thanks, Geoff.

Thanks Geoff for clarification.
So, to recap, come one come all, but leave the trailers and toys at home.
Also, as RMDRA is footing the bill for all signed letters, it would be a great learning opportunity and extra signed letters if everyone brought the family to this protest rally.
It will be like a really big social gathering with some education thrown in!

Yeah Tom, the more faces the better!

Hey Team,

For those of you that don't know down town that well there is parking right at the Mcdougal Centre in the underground parkade. Entrance is off of 5th ave between 7st and 6st. Half ton pickups fit no problem.

Just google Mcdougal Parkade.

Other options are street parking everywhere else down town.

See you there

GW

It is great to see the manufacturers, the federal and provincial organizations and the clubs coming together on this initiative. We are making waves and having an impact people!!

HEADS UP -
Brent Hodgson from the AOHVA will be on QR77 this morning with Danielle Smith at 10:30am and will then be followed by a guest from CPAWS. Please tune in and call in to support the AOHVA. Or, antagonize CPAWS with a question. I have a few in my mind....

Just before we get too excited, we need to look at the big picture. we really only succeeded on two points so far. They acknowledged and caved on the feed back session being to short, and said they wouldn't close it this year.

We absolutely still need every one to come on Saturday and sign our letters, and show our presence. Nothing has changed when it comes to the importance of being there. We need to let this Government know that access for all Albertans is as important as ever.

It's interesting but doesn't really say much. I'm skeptical and fear this is a case of them dangling a carrot with their left hand while they stab us in the back with the right.

I have trust issues.
