Interesting look over the years for sure, SLG has removed a few twigs. Its amazing we still have the amount of single track that we do have these days.
Between the logging and the wind storms that started in Nov. of 2006 McLean is a very different place from the 80's and even the 90's.
I put on the Bud XC at McLean in 1985 and we laid out the entire course with hand saws, not one chainsaw cut. Back then you could bushwack in most places with really the only challenges being Muskeg or a steep grade that would stop you, with almost zero blowdown and minimal dead fall it was clear sailing. Such a bummer these days putting in new or opening old trail thats had the forest combed-over and chainsawing our way through a wall of lumber.
