Might have to ride with a bullet proof vest next year.

Wow, Guess its going to be a much bigger gong show in MC and the Ghost. I am all for sharing public lands but wreckless firearm usage is not acceptable. A lack of registration on a dirt bike will never hurt anyone, hope the CO's refocus on clamping down on any irresponsible shooting activity in shared use areas.

Ditto axel...
If reckless shooting in the PLUZ was not already an issue, get ready for the real gong show to start.

Obviously the APRA has had enough cleaning up of irresponsible shooters mess on the public area, so can't say I blame them for closing it.
This fixes their issue, but ends up moving the problem into someone else's recreation area (i.e. ours).
APRA has numerous ranges still open for their paid members, but as we all know the irresponsible users have no interest in paying for a place to shoot.
No issues buying a $1,500 gun and a bunch of ammo to shoot up whatever you can find, but having to spend $250-300/year for access to a proper range (that's nuts)... :huh:

Here's some pictures of what they had to deal with...

http://www.albertarifle.com/images/Cleanup/index.htm" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
Anything that could be shot was shot up and had to use a sweeper on a skid steer to clean up all the shells and debris...

Im all for legal, responsible shooters using Mclean and Ghost, these are not the people being discussed in this thread. Hopefully the increased enforcement that's been happening in Mclean can keep some of the nonsense at bay.
Bikeless....

Who wants to do a Mclean cleanup next year when the gate re opens? If you think there's junk everywhere now wait till the winters over and the snow melts. :thumbsdown:

Not a bad idea, I think there's a car or two out there that should be cut up and hauled out.

I figure we could start from the south staging area and work our way down to the store cleaning up all the clearings off the road that are now converted ranges. It will take a few trucks and a large dumpster but it might show that somebody actually cares about the area.

I would be game for that, and likely could get some others involved from the shooting side of things.

Both sides understand it's an issue.
