Travel Trailer Warranty

Post by Dakota_c69 »

Well, tomorrow I go to pick up my new travel trailer. it's only 6 weeks late, but I digress. They are trying to sell me a 7 year extended warranty for $2400. Anyone have experience with extended warranties and can offer advice??

I have yet to meet anyone with a positive experience getting warranty work done.

I am hoping to hear different....

I seldom go for the extended warranty, and did not do it on the trailer we bought last year. Most are "third party", have numerous exclusions, and in reality I doubt There would be anything I couldn't fix for less than the up front cost. Things like roofs and actual structure of the trailer often have longer factory warranty periods. I think our roof is something like 15 years.

I'll keep the money in my account for the seven years. JMHO

You can do a lot of repairs for less than $2400. Those extended warranties also often have a deductible! Most problems you will find the first time it rains and you're inside the trailer.

I would keep the $$ in my pocket.
