Truck Tires?

Post by giantjoe »

It's time to get some new meats for the Titan. I've got 265/70R18 on it. I don't plan on changing the size. I've liked Michelins in the past on other vehicles. I just went through a set of off brand ones that wore way too quickly. I'm looking for ride comfort and highway quiet. I've got a big heavy trailer that I tow twice a year for about 300km, otherwise it's the dirtbike and the boat (less than 4000lbs).

Lets hear your suggestions.

Joe,
Tirecraft on center street south (close to chinook) carries those tires in stock. If you want the 10 ply versions they are more money and they go to a tire size of 275/65/18. The installed and balance price is approx 1450.00 for the 10 ply and without the 10 ply the total is 1325.00. I have run the open countrys on my last 2 trucks and they have been great! The drive to Les Schwab might be the way to go!

The good news is that I'm heading to Kalispell for July and half of August. The bad news is that one of my tires is pretty sketchy. Can I wait...

Mine are for my 3/4 ton, so might be a bit more than a 1/2 ton. I didn't check though.

I would not get the 10 ply. Comfort and quiet will be sacrificed.

I'm going for the Toyo open Country AT II's as well ... I had the Open Country M/T on my Wrangler and they were surprisingly quite ...
For the F150, Open Country AT II it is !!! ...

PS: I like that Montana Les Schwab idea ... can you ride a 2 stroke in Montana

I forgot how much I hate shopping for tires. Especially with internet "reviews". One guy says the tires are spectacular, the next says they're junk. I know Mike, so I took him for his word. The truck is at OK Tire getting them installed now. Toyo Open Country ATII 265/70R18 for $1332 installed. Not too shabby.

Thanks Mike!
