Well it seems that all the talk of ordering an '07 has hurt the old girls feelings, Maybe it even heard that nast Y word?? Anyways going along on a nice trail ride today about 25-30kmh, she decided to buck me, rider skill or lack thereof had nothing to do with it.
Here's the outcome...
They said about 2-3 weeks in a sling, probably about 2 months before I'll be riding. On the bright side I still managed to ride my bike out of about 2.5km of trail back to the truck, thank god for the Rekluse.
Welcome to the world of a seperated AC joint. If you ride a dirt bike, this is one injury that is common and bound to happen. Don't mean to scare anybody. But just about everyone I know that rides has done this at point or another(myself included, 3rd degree). Get some physio. Good luck with sleeping over the next couple of weeks, that's usually the biggest problem
Exactly what I did at the Porkies H/S Mtnblue is right....sleep is the biggest problem for the next while. Dont be shy with the anti-inflamitories....and buy a few of the blue ice packs and ice that thing as much as possible.
Did the 3rd degree AC separation 2 yrs ago as well (hockey). You'll be riding again before you know it, I was snowboarding within 3 weeks. Plus if your lucky you'll be left with a deformed looking shoulder. Great party conversation.
Canada day, 2003. Riding along, brain in neutral, buddy stops hard in front of me, I go down hard breaking the top off my Humerus and dislocating my shoulder, also torn rotater cuff. Off work for 3 months. The worst part was summer was just beginning and I had a garage full of bikes I couldn't ride. I feel youe pain.
Get better soon!!! And don't forget to rehab!! (I didn't...)
