I've been riding at McLean Creek lately. For the last 4 weeks I have ridden past a lone Yamaha on the Priddis cut line towards the North end of the Lone Ranger trail. Yesterday I stopped to try and help the little 2 stroke Yamaha out.
There is gas in the tank.
The gas is getting to the carb. (I turned the gas back off)
The plug wire was off the plug so I put it back on.
I tried starting it with and without the choke.
The bike is a little low on compression based on the kick starter pressure.
It's still there. What do you think should be done?
Help the needy Yamaha

I've noticed that thing too and don't really know. I think someone abandoned it. If you can or want to get it runinng and keep it!??

take the serial # off of it and report it to the police. If it has been registered or reported stolen, then they will know what to do with it. I would not want to get caught with it if it was stolen. Even if you had good intentions the hassle of defending yourself could get costly.

Check spark & pull carb & clean jets.
I would call the coppers & get ahold of the owner & arrange with him.

I didn't inspect "thoroughly", but I'm pretty sure the vin plate has been removed (to conceal it's identity - this bike is under-cover!). This bike is so old, I'm pretty sure it wouldn't be pursued by anyone as stolen property, but point taken Mike. It really is just (s'more) Yammy Junk!!

I have seen it there for about a month now and most recently last Sunday. By looking at the seat, pipe and mono shock swingarm, I have determined it is a probably a 1982 YZ125. Given that it is 25 years old it is in decent shape. It probably konked out on somebody and they are trying to source the part they need!

Re: Help the needy Yamaha
Thanks to who ever removed it. The needy Yamaha is now gone from the Priddis cut line.
