I haven't even taking it out riding yet, but I've already been modding it up to get ready for racing this year!
Here's what it looked like when I brought it home:
I quit racing about 7 years ago when my bike was stolen off my trailer on the way from a race. I used to have a yz426f that I loved, so here's hoping the new 450f measures up!
Took a 7-year break from racing... bought a bike last week!

Looks like a lot of fun. Be sure to check your chain tension before you ride - it looks tight enough that things may be damaged if you ride it the way it is.

Good observation. Chain appears way to tight in the photo and will break engine and suspenion stuff and not allow the suspension to work properly.IanInCalgary wrote:Looks like a lot of fun. Thanks for the warm welcome!
I noticed the tight chain too. The previous owner seems to have enjoyed keeping everything "tighter" than strictly necessary... Found a couple bolts with the heads sheared off I'm planning on going through it from top to bottom before I head out racing. I have a bunch of items to make it more "woods friendly" that I need to bolt on too.
I definitely intend to try out the guided rides. Would be nice to know more about the areas around Calgary.
