Hey everyone,

I just noticed that my Suomy Mr Jump Killer Loop Helmet (purchased in 2017) doesn't have a DOT sticker, or any cert. sticker on it. What's up with that and will it prevent me from registering at races where they are asking to see your helmet? For $500 it should be certified.

Are you sure there's no markings? Sometimes they are covered by the helmet liner or printed on the back exterior of the shell. That would be a real downer if not.

According to the Suomy website, it's ECE 22-05 and DOT certified. I'd remove the liner and have another look.

Its ECE 22/05-(this indicates acceptance by the UN Economic Division for Europe) and it would crush the DOT standards.
I've been on the "checking helmets" committee at many of races and if it says ECE or Snell, it has tested far better than DOT would require.
Suomy is an Italian company, so it makes sense they would carry the ECE rating. It is the standard in over 50 countries.
I would encourage you to continue to wear that helmet, to every race, as they test very well. I can be almost certain you will not be hassled for an ECE helmet.
Theres a few other very popular brands that are not DOT- but do still hold ECE rating. Good to go IMO

Slid the covering on the strap up, mine was hidden there on my Mr Jump, should be an ECE tag.
