Shale Shaker
Whose heading to the Shale shaker next weekend? I noticed theres a Hare Scramble on Saturday the 5th, and an XC on Sunday the 6th . Which race are most people here entering?
I would love to do both, but lack of skill and fitness level are making me think one or the other. (especially after experiencing the XC there last year.)

Re: Shale Shaker
The CMRC race for the provincial series is on the Sunday. I would imagine that would be the one most people enter.
I'll be heading down for that.

I will be there for both races as long as my ribs heal up. Took a beating in a wreck at the Monkey Wrench last Sunday. I hope the XC is similar to last year. I could do without the bulldog hill though.

Harescramble you say? I might be game for that. I still have nightmares from last year's XC.

Re: Shale Shaker
What will be the difference between the XC and the hare scramble? A few buddies and I are going down this weekend and were planning to ride the XC on Sunday, but are a little scared by this thread viewtopic.php?f=1&t=9899" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
Will the hare scramble have a lower gnar-factor? We've all been riding for many years so aren't bad riders, just not looking for broken bones and bikes

So? For those of you who attended, how did the XC go? Was there still an impossible downhill?
My HS race was alright

Re: Shale Shaker
I missed the ride on Saturday (to bad it sounded awesome!) but Sunday was an epicly gnarly 50km that was probably one of the most rewarding finishes ever!
As for the "impossible" downhill... Their was one gnarly gnarly downhill.... no sweat
It was soo so much fun! Anyone want to head back down on Sunday this weekend and ride it again? I wouldn't mind trying some of the obstacles without the race pressure (which apparently I succumb too! something to work on for sure!)
Great job organizers!!

Re: Shale Shaker
Yeah, that's an awesome place to ride!
Was there two loops on Sunday? The hill I'm talking about was on the second loop last year. There's no mistaking it. My understanding is that only the top two pros were able to ride it. Everyone else would have died.

It was the same loop twice, and everyone (who didnt get cut off) rode it once.
Only the pros did two loops I think.
Must be a different hill? Unless someone from last year can confirm it.
