Re: NEW DUAL SPORT RIDER

You can rock the Killer on any truck trail or lease road easy enough. Check SRD or join RMDRA for a map. Some real dirt tires will go a long ways too.

Re: 07 KTM front brake won't bleed

I just went through the same frustration on my 2010 EXC. What worked for me: Back bleed, ensure the master is the highest point (turn bars left). Then pump the master/lever with the bars in both directions while tapping the reservoir body (I had the master piston releasing air bubbles up into the re...

Re: Christini AWD 530 EXC build

Interesting perspective. I'm still learning how to make the most use of the AWD; it is a big change to technique having the front wheel pull, especially on climbs if you get bounced to the rear of the bike and lose full command of the bars, it can climb right out of the track and into the r...

Re: Advice on my carb

Jet passsages in my KLX seems to varnish up, esp. if the bike gets parked hot lots, you might be having similar issues. Empty the bowl or run the fuel out, take about 2' of 1/4" fuel line, hook it to the carb inlet, fill with good carb cleaner, let soak for 20 mins, start it run it on the cleaner, r...

Re: Christini AWD 530 EXC build

Black plastics (saving the Redbull Champions from further trail rash), maybe some Christini graphics, and fitting a set Giant Loop Mojave bags (trim plate holder and drill/zip tie rear clamps). After using the Coyote bags in Baja, yes pricey but 100% value in them , I'm sold on getting the weight of...

Re: Christini AWD 530 EXC build

No room for an o-ring is what Christini says. I just put the EE guard on, was running the stock plastic one, trimmed for the secondary chain. I'd think the EE would pack up less that the stock, but its the top transfer case input area that also gets packed up. Meh it's mud, whatcha gonna do? Just in...

Re: Penny-Tech Handguard Mounts

Not bangin' on the lo-buck solutions. Sometimes for me, the time savings using an out of the box part is required. The G2's, and the Highway Dirtbike steel inserts, have an allen key recess. I am running both types, G2's on the KLX for 4000+km of Baja and local trails, and HBD on the KTM, h...

Re: Penny-Tech Handguard Mounts

Cool tech. But aren't the G2 threaded inserts only like $20...

I have a couple of the G2 taps kicking around now, if someone needs to borrow.

Re: Christini AWD 530 EXC build

New bike looks old now. :crybaby: June5.JPG Ok, the 908 (rear) was not a good choice for the slime at Maclean, chunky and drove forward well enough, but no lateral traction. Chopping the throttle in 2WD, like going into a greasy corner, almost always resulted in a low side, think as the front stoppe...

Re: Christini AWD 530 EXC build

Re: Rotella, You can find the 5w40 full synthetic at Walmart too, I run it in the KLX. We ran Amsoil 10w40 and 0w40 in Baja, I think I'll give that a try since I have a gallon kicking. the 10w50 overall is not a big expense but no reason for it to be as much as it is? Tire change and Tubl...

Re: Christini AWD 530 EXC build

No evidence of water in the front hub, no spacers so seals well. Rear factory KTM not so much, have a set of o-ringed spacers coming. Christini is sending me a hub, chain and lower fork service kit and a remote choke . :applause: While the wheels are off might as well make the leap to the Tubliss, h...

Re: Christini AWD 530 EXC build

I'm not so worried about the math anymore, it sure works :D, so just going to keep it maintained and ready to run. Trying to get back out Friday afternoon, or on the weekend. Come see how this compares to the 650. The AWD might make me lazy(ier), but perhaps not, as mentioned you have to get on it f...

Re: Christini AWD 530 EXC build

As expected, the secondary chain took mud and grass right up to the gearbox, its a 420 non o-ring so I'll remove it and give it a ATF soak and grease. There is a grease seal for the gearbox innards, but the cover has the input retainer bearing with no seal so will have to keep an eye on that. Didn't...
