Re: Which GPS?
The 64s is great. The other option is an Oregon 600, which I like more. It is a bit more expensive but has an internal antenna (no breaking it), has a nice touchscreen and can be viewed in landscape mode (biggest plus for me). Whatever you do, don't listen to anything AJRJ says about GPS's or ask He...

Re: Ktm wheel bearing
Mr Dobi, it appears you misread my earlier post. I suggest people do periodic maintenance, not preventative maintenance. If you are having difficulty understanding the difference between periodic maintenance and repairs, please let me know and I'll explain further.

Re: Ktm wheel bearing
In addition, it's a good idea to periodically pull your spacers, make sure they're clean and put some grease around the out lip/race. I also try to put some grease between the seal and the bearing.

Re: 5K Staging Area is a Disgrace
You shouldn't have to rent a trailer. I know many members have open trailers you could use to haul garbage, and I'm certain they would happily lend it for this.Hooligan wrote:I will have to go rent a trailer
Can someone offer up a utility trailer for this (and a tarp would be great idea)?

Re: Panorama H/S
Awesome! That was a fun race. Looks like the only section they took out for the b loop was that uphill with all the mountain bike ramps, which was obviously a pretty gnarly section! Congrats on the podium 37 :applause: Josh, there are several other sections the B loop skipped. A few of the places I...

Re: New member in Cochrane
When Kevin shows up for the Club Rides, make him go with the fastest group. He fit right in riding for 2 days this weekend with Dobi, Hendrix13, Thirtyseven and Dirtyboy. In fact maybe break a few of his spokes, it slows him down for a bit.

Re: 07 KTM 250 XCFW Questions
What colour is the smoke? White and it's almost surely your head gasket. Blue/black and you can bet it's your piston rings and/or valve seals. If you bring it to Houston I'll fix it for ya.

Brandon, you'll fit right in. In fact if you want to get your son into the sport, there are lots of family members around with kids of all ages.

Re: KTM 350 XCF W SUSPENSION - ON A BUDGET
I'm not a suspension expert, but it's important to get the correct springs for your weight. The other cheap and easy option with the open cartridge forks is to play with oil/air height and weight. My experience is the oil can really change the feel of the OC forks.

Re: Clake-one lever
Unfortunately I don't believe the Clake One reduces the clutch lever travel (i.e. reach), which I believe is what you are looking for. I'd add if reducing lever travel is what you are looking for, you definitely don't want the Midwest lever as it reduces pull force by increasing the lever travel (ba...

Re: Filter Skins
My two cents. You're changing/cleaning your filter too often. Only in the dustiest conditions will your filter be dirty enough that it should be cleaned/new every ride (think a long dusty Kooc day). You could easily cut your filter changing/cleaning schedule in half and be fine. Also, every time you...

Re: Diesel Vs Big Gasser
My two cents. Buying a 3/4 ton gas engine truck doesn't make sense. My reasoning, if you truly need the load capability of a 3/4 ton then the gas engines just don't cut it. Conversely if you don't need the load capability then just get a gas 1/2 ton. I believe the top powertrains in the 1/2 ton's ar...

Light and maybe available under $500 locally. Suomy Mr. Jump. Nice helmets that are amongst the lightest on the market, just don't ever break the visor. Replacement visors are stupidly expensive.

Re: Question from Singletrack Noob
The only area's you might find really difficult (depending on conditions and direction) are around Ewok, Voodoo and Viagra. Particularly as there are a few trails and lines in that area that you could end up on that are not legal, but more difficult. The good thing with McLean is that if you can't d...
