Re: Livingstone and Porcupine Hills Public Land Use Zones Established

i am looking at the maps. In the literature it states that random camping can be done in designated 'nodes' that have the trailer icon. By my count, zero camping in Porkies and 2 camp spots in the entire Livingstone/RHC/Crowsnest Pass and IG areas. The 2 are located near IG. :crybaby: Am i just not ...

Re: McLean Opener?

i completely understand where you are coming from, i do. Unfortunately with blanket closure of Castle followed by soon to be blanket closure of Porcupine Hills, Racehorse Creek, Livingstone and the Bighorn area leaves me with never wanting to suggest any closure for any reason to the current governm...

Re: Which GPS?

Love the iPhone (I'm sure android would be as good). No data, no plan required. I stuck an unused SIM card in a old phone, GPS runs fine. I use MotionX, but there's probably other better ones. Large easy to read screen, and an Iphone 5 can be had for a fraction of the cost of a Garmin... Even thoug...

Re: McLean Opener?

This is where I wish the clubs had more power to influence the Province to keep an area closed longer to allow more time for the trails to improve, rather risk them becoming worse because of conditions. Sure there are numerous amounts of us who can pick and choose to ride sections which aren't as d...

Consider having laser eye surgery to correct your vision, my 72 y/o mother recently had it done because she was having trouble reading the speedometer of her car. 20 minutes of laser work and a short recove...

Re: Which GPS?

Even though I'm a big fan of the Oregon 600 (or 650 if you like), if I was looking for a new GPS I'd just find a cheap used iPhone 6 and get a protective case. You can download whatever maps you need on WiFi and the GPS doesn't require data. As for the SIM card issue, unless our friends at Apple ha...

Re: A New Chapter -KTM 690 Set Up

Cool write up. Good info for the desired years. Soon, you will be writing about good vs bad tires. ha. My preference is the Kenda Washougal (DOT) front and the Moto Z Tractionator Dessert HT (DOT) Rear Offroad, the best combo. Onroad, they work and hold well. Wear on them is exceptional. I have trie...
