Re: recent fallen timber xc event?
Well, I didn't make it to the race, had a family reunion on my wifes side on Saturday that I couldn't get out of. Also on Thursday I sprained my right ankle, so no riding at all for a week or two  One of my riding buddies from Edmonton made it though, go MrHermit!! Since the race is just...

Re: Mountain Goat 100
It's amazing how easily people fall into "exclusive use syndrome"; they believe public lands should be used only for their chosen activity, at the exclusion of everyone else. I guess they dont understand the premis of "united we stand, divided we fall".

Re: Club response to ESRD?
I'm not a member of rmdra yet, but will be soon. I say absolutely the club should respond if it is able to do so, the more organized the better in cases like these. The best words that come to mind in this case are "gross abuse of public office". I've seen people abuse their power in administrative ...

Re: recent fallen timber xc event?
So if anyone hasn't raced before, now's your chance. :soapbox: So yeah, me and one of the guys I rode with yesterday are really thinking about entering the event. What's the process for complete noobs to racing? I'm not out to set the world on fire, but my friend is a fair bit faster than ...

ahh, I see, kudos to the trail builder(s), it was awesome, I can only imagine the tremendous amount of work that was to set up.

recent fallen timber xc event?
I was out with a couple of other riders yesterday at fallen timber for some single track. We started from the parking area behind the campground and headed out over the bridge across the river. Was going to do one of the loops marked on the srd map, but right after the bridge we started following so...

I see, good to know the context. From the video it looks like he came out of nowhere and took you out with a vengeance, lol

Re: MRSI Challenge
Looks like the other rider took you out pretty good, that's something that has me thinking twice about trying a hare scramble or XC race, dozens of other amped up, red misting riders wanting to occupy the same space as me at the same time...

Re: Omitting Thermostat
When I bought my used KTM 500 (I know, not a 350), the PO had installed a Samco hose kit that also eliminates the thermostat and housing. He said he did this because he was having problems with the bike often boiling over on him while sitting in traffic. I bought the bike with 39 hours on it, now ha...

Re: cmrc shale shaker
Sorry to pirate a thread, but can anyone tell me where the better ridge trails are in the area, I've see some nice looking ones on the shale shaker videos. I'm going to be in the general area in a couple of weeks, and don't know where the good single track ridge trails are.

Re: Porcupine Race concerns
Typical one sided story, comparing "damage" to industry activity is laughable. Suggesting that races not be allowed on public land at all and should be restricted to private land is also narrow minded, and typical of views that desire exclusive use of public lands for their own chosen activities, wh...
