Re: tire changing station

On the windex, tire pastes diluted with water work good too - they don't dry as fast as windex but I find they are good on stiffer sidewalled tires like a bigger dual sport or some sport touring tires because they are real slippy. I don't sweat the drying time too much on a dirt bike wheel with a ri...

Re: tire changing station

For dirt bike tires I just use another tire lying on the floor - a 17inch sport bike take off works good

Don't forget a bead buddy if you don't have one already.

Re: Do I need to change my helmet after a crash?

I have a helmet that the mouth piece was broken off. The rest of the shell seems good to me. Can I just use it as an open face helmet? It would allow me to smoke while riding the bike for those more relaxed rides. Holy Cow! I wouldn't do that because of sharp edges - you will be better off to take ...

Re: Lowering 250xc-w

You can get it lowered front and rear internally with droop spacers, which maintains the balance and is reversable. You could also get resprung at same time. But it's the most expensive way and although spacers are inexpensive I'm sure you'd be looking at least a couple hundred bucks if you took the...

Re: McLean Trail Status - May 9th 2012

A group on guided rides cleaned up Johnny Two Skidoos last night (well, it was mostly Brass doing the cuttin' while the rest of us cheered him on :applause: ). Just a few trees were down but all done now, other than one big one that is rideable with a little log for a ramp.

Re: GSMG annual report

It is an ASRD challenge and one that we have gotten around by signing "recreational site agreements" in the past. This one is being worked at a provincial gov't level Thanks for the explanation. After my post I double checked and the government is bound by the Occupiers Liability Act. So I think AS...

Re: GSMG annual report

The report identified four “challenges” which are impacting the development of a sustainable trail system, including “resolution of issues related to public liability in the development and maintenance of trails.” I’m surprised this is identified as an issue. We are required to be insured so that ca...

Re: 250F vs 250 2t vs 450F

I don't have an opinion on this that is worth sharing. :) But if you are looking for a 450, I know a guy who wants to sell his 2010 WR450F that he bought new but barely rode. I don't know what he is asking but think it will be a good deal. PM me with your number and I can call you with more details.

Re: 2007 DRZ250

Just putting this bike back out there. Nothing has changed from the ad below and it hasn't been ridden since then, although I've started it from time to time. Decent beginner dirt bike for an adult, that has very low (approx. 10) hours and excellent condition. It was my wife's bike and she didn't ri...

I emailed OLN and asked if they are carrying it and they said no. Anyone know how to watch it in Alberta/Canada?

Re: KTM 950/990

I couldn't go over a speed bump at the grocery store on my sport touring bike without scraping the exhaust header, so this bike is really to go on longer distance trips on highway and gravel with some camping, and then some dirt/logging roads thrown in here and there and maybe the odd blast up Slyve...
