Re: Going to balckfoot today.

When I put her away in the fall she had a leaking fork seal that I may have solved with the film negative trick. knuckle, The boys showed me how to use a business card instead of the film negative with better results. I think it works better and it may be easier on the seal. I also use the business...

I agree with Brenan. The lighter, less powerful bike will be easier to handle in the more technical stuff and it won't wear you out on long rides. That's whey I ride a 250F. Having said that, the 450EXC makes some nice smooth power, is pretty light really good at our mountain terrain. I like to ride...

Don't quote me but I think revalving, cleaning, oil change, and new oil for forks is $250 and shock is $200 including Nitrogen recharge. You should call Chris to confirm and let him tell you about his guarantee. His valving is from www.pro-action.com and he has some added local tricks for XC valving...

Re: Suspension work

I'm looking at getting my suspension done (cross country riding only, no mx). Can anybody recommend a place in Calgary that they've had experience with? How about RMR? Thanks, Chuck I have used Chris at Pro-Action suspension 685-9400 a number of times. I'm always happy with his work and I'm kind of...

Winter tires still required at Porkys, but the snow is melting. I only got stuck in the snow twice today. Lot's of dust but I found many areas that look like good traction dirt but as soon as you spin your tire, it's glare ice. Even with studs on you are stuck or slide out. :cripple: But all in all ...

Hey Dirtyboy, are they still letting you get away with the battery powered headlights and tailights from the mountain bikes? I am really don't want to have to buy a new bike just to ride in the forestry :banghead: The guys were getting away with the battery powered headlight that attachs to the han...

Re: 2005 CRF250X

anybody know the facts about changes to the '05 model? Check the CRF250X Honda Web site Here's what they list to be new for 2005: * New Honda Race Team-inspired graphics. * New lightweight rear hub. I guess when all the magazines vote the CRF250X as bike of the year, Honda doesn't want to change mu...

Someone mentioned on the phone to me that it isn't obvious the type of tires that are required for Porkys right now.

As of February 26 winter tires are required to ride at Porkys. Screws or studs will do it.

Nice install and I like your inginuity but I think you will have a hard time convincing the Rangers that this thing is in the spirit of the tailight law. I got away for years wearing one of those flashing red lights that cyclists wear when riding at night. I simply clipped mine to the back of my ch...

OK, here's some pics of the light. Do you think it is visible in low light situations from 60 meters? The light is on the left side, just under the fender: http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v732/mxp1l0t/000_0283.jpg And in the dark with the light on, it looks like this: http://img.photobucket.com/al...

Here's a pic of the battery I use in my WR. It is a 2.9AH battery (on the left) and is about 1.2 the size of the stock 4AH battery. Now I use mine for the electric starter so you could get away with a much smaller one.

Legal Bike

Well after last weekend when I got a warning for having no tail light, I figured I'd do something about it. (I had the plate, spark arrestor and headlight) One of the guys had a custom tail light made from a 12v LED and he was questioned about the "can it be seen from 60 m?", but it passed. So, my s...
