Re: 2013 Race course - request for volunteer

The Kids and I definitely got the Ladies / Kids Beginner loop completely deflagged on the Monday after the race. Some of the prior race flags on other tracks were around... we only cleared far enough they wouldn't get confusing on our loop. Need to find flagging that stays sound until frozen, then d...

Re: SSRP - RMDRA Consultation Night October 17, 2013

Did a talk on SSRP and the Consultation meeting at Wildhorse race last weekend, looks like we need to update this at the HS race this weekend. I asked SGC to post the meeting on their website and its up under secondgearclub.com "News" section. I contacted them about the date change. Perfect, Thanks...

Re: 2012 WR450f - thoughts on this bike?

Subject: 2012 WR450f - thoughts on this bike? I'm seriously debating purchasing a new 2012 wr450f leftover at the dealer near my house. Anyone own this bike or have an opinion on it? I've always purchased MX bikes in the past, but e-start, a headlamp and a wide-ratio gear box all seem like good rea...

Come on out tomorrow night to Club Night! Total beginners welcome. Even experienced MXers welcome :smirk: http://forums.rmdra.com/viewtopic.php?f=15&t=9980 I will be leading the slowest, most relaxed ride ever. Joe is laying out a track, but I will not be tearing it up. Turns out riding 150 km in a ...

Re: Kocanusa on the Long Weekend

Never been to kooc, have a few questions. Is their random camping? Directions? Any place to get water nearby for the trailer, don't really want to haul water all that way. Firewood? Any one else going out and would like to go for a ride. Thanks, Dennis Campgrounds have picnic tables and firepits, a...

Re: Handlebar Width

Interesting - my left grip consistently works its way inwards on the bar despite hairspray and grip wire. I have long arms (36" sleeve) but something about how I ride "wants" to have narrower bars. I will have to try the push-up measurement.

Re: Shale Shaker

I spent 10 minutes on the first hill reattaching a shroud after peeling it off on a tree. Otherwise, the first hill was challenging but I conserved energy and made it up relatively unscathed. Found the first 10K extremely hard on the shoulders, kept dialling out my new damper until my arms didn't co...

Even without Jared's result ;-) I have to agree - the race was very well run and the loops were fast and fun. Beautiful country!
