Re: Antifreeze in the crank oil
Thanks for the great info everyone. WR Dave I absolutely guarantee with the hill climbs and fast single track in Colorado that the pumpkin thoroughly "burnt off" anything it was possibly going to burn off. I don't think I've ever held a bike wide open in 3rd on a hill climb for so long in my life. ...

Re: Antifreeze in the crank oil
Overfilling the rad can cause you to think you are losing antifreeze on every ride. The previous posts are correct in the fact that the cooling system will find it's level. Correct me if I'm wrong , but you got this bike this spring so all of your riding is being done in cooler temps. So I'm assuming...

I'm sure it has to! Don't worry, with enough therapy you'll forget all about it. WR Dave

Re: First bike questions (New here, and new to Biking)
Hey now Howard, Mr. Sheridan , Cladoo and I are all "FROM" there and only the fresh ones, directly from the province and fairly young, were seeing their lunch again. That was a fun day though. WR Dave

Re: 06 WR450 Carb Help
Sounds like lean popping, a 155 main jet is probably too small for the current temps we are at, I would go back to the 165 mj a 40 pj a previous year YZ needle on the second or third clip from the top. Also disable the ACV valve on the left side of the carb, by removing the cover and flipping the di...

Way to go Claude , you skewed this thread !! And to Thirtyseven, I wouldn't know anything about race pace, I'm just a fat old slow trail rider that appreciates how my bike gets me around. WR Dave

Re: Bike Selection Dilemma
[quote="steve-o I ride a 300 and have owned a 200 and they are PLENTY fast. I know pro Vet rider who can also pretty much beat anyone on a 200. But I may not know.[/quote] When Dean Wilson lived in Calgary, he regularly smoked 250 2 & 4T riders on a 2T 80, so telling me a pro vet rider is fast doesn...

Re: Fuel vent line routing
I did mention it was just my opinion, the time I saw this happen was on a bike with a fresh air filter and a very restricted airbox due to "owner add-ons" so the lower pressure in the airbox pulled fuel up the lines that were all routed to the airbox. WR Dave

Re: Fuel vent line routing
This is JMHO :D , but I would rather "tee" the vent line and run the "teed" end up under the tank to prevent the issues that Thirtyseven was talking about. I have seen instances where the vent line into the airbox had enough low pressure on it that it pulled fuel into the airbox which washed down th...

Re: Exhaust Question
Spark plug reading is a good way to fine tune the jetting if it's done properly and most people don't go about it the correct way. Also unleaded fuels make reading the plug much more difficult to read accurately. That being said here is a pretty good article on the subject. WR Dave http://www.totalm...

Good info, thanks Dylan. Also thanks for verifiying my earlier statements regarding the oils. A "blue" 4 stroke rider can still remember the days before 4T. WR Dave
