Re: New Yamaha
TwoTired, I built a map that softens the off idle hit. Bring it by and we can download it with my GTYR tuner for you to try. Hey Malcolm, can you PM that map to me please? I have my own tuner to load it with. BTW I loaded the standard map for the 2014 YZ250f and tried it at Blackfoot and WOW...what...

Re: New Yamaha
I am contemplating the 250fx as my next bike, but worried it will be too feeble. For those of you who own one, any thoughts? My current 350 feels like just enough. I do occasionally find myself WOT, though arguably not often near the upper RPM range. I worry that a smaller bike would be ride-able, ...

Re: MonkeyWrench 2015
Dusty and hot! Saturday after the race in the town of Lytton it was 42 degrees, felt like standing in an oven.
Thirtyseven that downhill from your Sunday footage was insane... no thanks!!
Here's some footage from my first lap in the harescramble;

Re: Porkies Report
This is not a new dilemma, it happens often. I remember almost the exact scenario 5 or 6 years ago and the racer was told to move up by the competition committee after winning the first two races the year after he won the championship and pointed out. I remember another year one rider raced the full...

Re: West Coast HS/Monkey Wrench 100
I'm heading out that way tomorrow. We are going to hit a few fishing holes and golf courses on the way. Should be a scorcher with those temperatures. Any word about the Cisco fire? It was only 50% contained yesterday. I think the race site is 30 km north of the fire so hopefully the wind blows the o...

Re: Porkies Report
I never called anyone a sandbagger and didn't mean to insult any volunteers or genuine good guys. My comments are regarding the fact that there is one individual who had a great year in 40B last year and pointed out through the advancement point structure in place. This racer has raced both of this y...

Re: Porkies Report
There is a mandatory advancement points structure in place, see the rule book. If you gain more advancement points than threshold points you must move up. Too bad if you're DFL, you are no longer eligible to race that class. This only applies to one individual in 40B right now. I'm not sure why anyo...

Re: Corner Grass Harescramble
That was strange...how did that other rider end up holding his bike like that?
It almost looked like the junior had to run in the bush for a bathroom break. "Hey dude, hold my bike?"

Re: Corner Grass Harescramble
Great video Jared! Was the line that the guy took to the left in the mounds ligit? I never even saw that during the race.
I blew by that same corner as you on the first lap. My helmet cam had a lump of mud on it blocking the view during the first moto.

It was a hot challenging day of racing for sure, I was pretty sore and tired by the end!

Re: Porkies Report
I really enjoyed riding the Yamaha YZ250FX on the sweet singletrack that they have in the porcupine hills. This is my favorite place to ride that I have ridden because of the relatively open flowing trails that a guy can get some speed on and just cruise along. I found that riding a gear high helped...
