Re: Penny Tech (TM) - KTM AC lighting circuit - cheap DC power
Cool! My Google fu said about 3.5a off the battery charging circuit, maybe they increased the stator output on the new bikes, I guess I could try to figure out the current meter on my fluke...

Re: Penny Tech composite boot repair
This repair held up riding pretty much every weekend, then it cracked a bit around the edges during a week long trip recently. I cut it out and redid it, this time with a bit of plastic between the liner and the outer plastic molding - see if that adds reinforcement. It definitely needs a week to cu...

Re: Penny Tech Gear repair
I did some more gear patching, redid some patches after a few gear washes had them starting to fray a bit - pant knees were peeling.
The singer brand seem to have better adhesive.

An update, with a zip tie, this repair is still holding up, if you have more time than money.

Penny Tech - brake line sheath replacement
If you keep a bike past 100 hours, your might notice the front brake line abrasion sheath wears through. Aside from that, most often the brake line is still quite serviceable, and a replacement to address the sheathing wear requires a whole new line at considerable cost. As an experiment, I decided ...

It’s a what m14 pitch? Buy a brass plug, or even a mild steel bolt, drill it and punch or epoxy in a barbed 1/4” fitting. Add vinyl tubing and sort of similar.

Re: Penny Tech (TM) - KTM AC lighting circuit - cheap DC power
Behind the mask there's a pair of wires that go the the stock headlight connector, I adapted spade terminal into those to the rectifier input, offhand can't recall the colors. It would make send one side is ground tho. You have to jumper or close the circuit at the headlight switch terminal too.

Re: Tow Hauler Garage Set Up
I called Acklands a bit back and they have the 100' L track strips in stock, and the prices seemed comparable to x-border shopping.
https://www.acklandsgrainger.com/en/product/p/KDN15546?
They don't however, have much for the corresponding tie downs.

Head porting/polishing
Besides LRX, who else local does heads? Looking for a mild port/polish to support a big(ger) bore kit on a 250F.

My USA purchases are generally items I cannot get here, and are infrequent: I try to give the local vendors 1st crack at supplying.

Re: Anyone tried prescription goggle inserts?
Jared, I have the powered humidistat fan thingie, the same one, but branded by 509. It some goggles it works well, old set of 509's, Scotts, others it does not sense the humidity and leads to fog (new 509, 100%). As well it blocks the airflow out the top of the goggle so you become completely depend...

Re: Penny Tech shroud/panel repair
An update on this repair. It held for 2 rides, then I cut the zip tie off, and the panels worked loose from the adhesive. To be fair, the shroud was fairly chowdered, and upon inspection some of the adhesive was still not set up, as I had quickly slapped it on the bike in the cold. So, trying versio...

Penny Tech - refurbished grip stud installation tool
Overdue to pull my studs out of the old tire and build a new one. Went to grab my box of studs and tools, and discovered I only had one decent 4800 installation bit left, out of about 5, the others were all chowdered out... on a Sunday of course. Namely the bit “tangs” that insert to the stud keyway...
