Re: NOVHCC-style Trails in Montana

To ride off-road in montana you have to purchase their trail permit for $5.00 and it is appreciated if you als spend $20.00 for the Montana off-highway membership.. Cheap for fantastic riding.

Closest town is Niehart, west of great falls. High country, so has snow until June.

NOVHCC-style Trails in Montana

Riding in the Little Belts area of Montana. participants were: Russ, Cory and Jack (from Florida) all from NOHVCC, Paul and me. Great examples of well managed trails, good signage and control points for single track. http://i395.photobucket.com/albums/pp40/thumper-darryl/IMG_1171.jpg http://i395.pho...

30 below outside and I have to look at this? That is just plain mean, but thanks. Now I have to go out into the garage and hug my 300.

Re: GPS Shopping

When I was down in the states with the NOHVCC guys they were trying out some units from Garmin The Oregon was terrible, the 76CSX was good, but they all preferred the map60csx.

Re: Husaberg FE 450/570, or KTM 450 XC-W

Just back from Moab where I spent some time on both a KTM 530 and a Berg 570. For me-- no comparison. The Berg rode and handled like a 2 stroke(a positive) and made the poor KTM feel old-school. (and I love my KTMs) The only downside I experienced was that the Fuel-injected Berg cut out on long STEE...

Re: On our next trip to Moab...

I will be there next week, but I won't even walk across that bridge. Maby I can get one of my American friends to ride across---I hope not.

Re: Trailside tire repair, what do you recommend?

Trailguy nailed it. Only thing different for us is we use the tire pump that also works with co2 cartridges, then you have the best -CO2 and the back-up of the pump. If every rider in your group carries a 21 in tube and CO2 cartridges you are well covered. This is what has proven to work well even i...

Re: Starter woes

You had me worried with this mention of using a kick starter. I had to go look and see if my 300 actually had a manual starter. It does. Still tucked in by the fuel tank where KTM put it --just in case. I think I will pull my starter apart and check it over, as I do want to use the manual thingy.

Re: ***WARNING>>>please read***

The pin cards are not all that they are advertized. At a store you can override the pin by simply manually keying in the card #.
At our shop we have had customers do this a bunch of times. Not a good set up.

Re: ***WARNING>>>please read***

We always try and leave all valuables in the enclosed trailer which is tough to break into and alarmed with a Rotty alarm, and my wallet is in a baggy in my camel back. In the winter vehicles being broken into is such a huge problem that some snowmobile clubs have security at staging areas. Sad.

Re: In honour of the upcoming WEC

Flex-bars from Faast, Absorb sharp hits and you can mount guards without reducing the flex. I tried a bike with them last fall, and now have them. Very cool, especiallyfor old guys with weak wrists--Like trailguy.
