Re: Fork Oil?

Logic would say you are correct, but most (if not all) modem forks call for 5W oil, so is very light already.

Re: Wheel bearing question

I found bearings can fail quickly and end up having to change them when you have the least time. Based on the number of revolutions a bearing makes in a bike wheel, they should last for years, if they have grease and no dirt in them. The reason they don't last long, is that they get dirty/rusty or l...

Re: Riding The Dunes

Been to Saint Anthony 3 times now. Was awesome the first time, decent the second and after the third will be a while before I go again, if ever. It's fun but not super technical, as I am not into big air jumps. It is a bucket list ride though... Paddle tire is a must, without one you'll have a hard ...

Re: Overheating

Boiling coolant is not a bad thing, it takes a ton of energy to boil water and that all energy is being taken away from an over heated engine. Take a pot of water at 20°C and put it on the stove (assume 5000W), it comes up to 100°C (at sea level) then boils and holds that temperature. Thus the 5000W...

hour meter

Here a question for any electrical engineers out there...

Can I use a spark plug lead hour meter to log hours on an AC electric motor?
It senses electrical pulses, so would seem to work on an AC line as well although voltage carried would be different.

2013 350xcf rear brake

the rear brake on my 350xcf is not bleeding back.
I was changing pads and the caliper piston would not push in (even when using a C clamp)
I bled the caliper and got the pads in, but the brake pedal has almost no play even on the loosest setting.
something internal in the rear master cylinder?

Didn't get a PM from you Blackjack. The CDI is now gone.
I haven't checked this thread for a while and just sent the CDI to a guy in Texas.
Someone in Australia wanted it too, was surprised there was a demand for it...

Thanks Dobi, If KTM won't warranty it, I'll try to free it up before ordering a new one ($300 retail)

Re: rear shock rebound adjustment

Thanks Dylan. Just dropped it off at Cycleworks it appears they have seen this before. They say the lower rebound adjuster is not serviceable nor can you order the part separately. The fix is to buy the lower shaft assembly. However, they are going to see if KTM will warranty it. Only thing I can th...
