Re: DIY Guide: Build Your Own Pipe Dent Remover

PSI will range from 400 to 900 for most pipes, for badly bent or crushed necks I have gone as high as 3000 but you have to be prepared to fix a burst at that point. Yamaha pipes split open around 900, stock KTM can take the most pressure, and FMF is a mixed bag. I have had some open up at 300 ish an...

Re: DIY Guide: Build Your Own Pipe Dent Remover

I have been using this method to repair pipes for a few years now and feel that it is a much safer method than plugging the ends and heating with a torch (pipe bomb) and the final fit is much better. A couple tips; - wrap a bit of wire around the silencer end plug and attach to the mounting tab. Thi...

Re: Hard armour shorts

Check your riding pants for pockets in the hips. If you have them, you could simply add a 3DO style hip pad and save the bulk and extra heat of an extra layer.

Re: Tires

Everyone knows that Glenn's opinion doesn't count. Never trust someone with more than 2 bikes, they clearly don't know what they like and can't make up their mind about anything.

Re: Tires

Tire choices are like belly buttons. Everyone has one and each is different. I for example like the AT81 at lower pressure (5 - 7 psi rear). I also like the Michelin S12 XC Soft but know a few people who hate them. Many people love the IRC M5B which I hate. Who's to say which choice is right? My sug...

Re: Carb vs EFI (TPI)

Allison's (Cycleworks) used bikes are always a great deal. Her stuff is dealer maintained and loaded up with all the must haves. As a bonus she isn't hard on her gear, which really is the most important. Always a safe buy. As for tpi vs carb, it comes down to personal choice and your mechanical abil...

Bighorn Country Gov. Survey

I just received an email from the AB Gov asking to take part in a survey regarding management of Bighorn country which will no doubt end up affecting us. I would like to ask the RMDRA Executive to collectively review this survey and give feedback and guidance to the club members about how to answer ...

Re: Transmission Oil 200xc

Not another "Which oil" thread. Whatever you use, change it often and make sure it is safe to use with a clutch. The 200 doesn't take much and the aluminum clutch plates will foul it up pretty fast. I change my oil every 6 hours (about 2-3 rides) like it was a religious thing and the clutches ...
