Re: 2011 KTM 300XC-W differences??

Thanks. Why is the frame better? Lighter, tighter? Centre of gravity? Flickability? Better cornering / exit speed? Synergy of suspension? I am looking to add the '11XC-W, only if it is worth it. I can wait. My '09 is pretty good. We all know about marketing statements..."New & Improved, Brighter, Fa...

2011 KTM 300XC-W differences??

I currently ride a '09 300 xc. It has proaction front forks, a 52 rear spocket and aggressive mapping switch. I think its pretty good. I am seriously thinking of adding a '11 300XC-W to the garage? I have scowered the net looking for technical changes, between the two for comparison. While reading t...

Re: KTM 300: Remove Rear Spring collar

Got the official word. The collar does come off the bottom. Pull the rubber stopper up the stanchion to expose a nut on the underside. Before you loosen this nut, remove the nut on the side labeled #3 in your manual. The one that warns "never adjust". The bottom of the shock comes off allowing the c...

Re: KTM 300: Remove Rear Spring collar

Hmm. I'll do a quick confirm. Then follow up. Thanks. I'm covered for the nitrogen--I'm a Fridgy (refrigeration mechanic). I''ll keep you informed of the progress. :D

Re: KTM 300: Remove Rear Spring collar

Me too. Unfortunately the diameter of the collar is the exact diameter of the bottom of the shock. Thus... IT AINT GO'N NOWHERES.
I am missing something, It's gotta be simple! I will talk to a shop tomorrow.

KTM 300: Remove Rear Spring collar

I have an '09 KTM 300 XC. I have removed the shock assembly from the bike. I have removed the spring from the shock assembly. Am I missing the easy way to remove the threaded collar? (it is damaged). Don't tell me I have to bleed the shock of nitrogen and fluid just to remove the collar!

Re: KTM 250XC_W

Hello, I know that Cycle-Works has one. that was a demo last summer. It's an '08 with 29 hrs on it. It also has been jetted(JD). Heads up: Slight oil leak on left side. It appears to be a bit rough. I was talking to Doug......He was willing to throw in a Light Kit free.......He was very eager to mak...
