Re: Training wheels

Howard follow up with DLX77, they are easy to make. From Castor Land purchase the smallest inflatable wheels with bearings. Run square or rectangular tubing up against the bottom of the frame, make an upper & lower bracket for each footpeg. Run the brackets over the stock footpeg pins, drill a hole in...

Re: Training wheels

Forget about the training wheels off the rear axle - death trap. Go with the training wheels under the footpeg set up.Ty ran this for 1 1/2 years & never had it on its side or flipped once.Howard you be screaming fast in the tight singletrack with this set up.......until you catch one of the trainin...

Re: New season, new rider.

Thanks Bushwagon. The SRD is well aware that we like to ride ridges & not play in the wet lands. They've personally said to me we have an easy job making our singletrack trails sustainable compared to the Quad & truck guys. They are very impressed & pleased with what the RMDRA has accomplished at McL...

Re: New season, new rider.

Yes we have 50 trails GPSed at this point, but the only reason we are GPSing is on the request of the SRD as per the comittment the club made to the area. Saying waiting for the SRD to make GPS tracks available is unrealistic is completely inaccurate. We only started the GPS proccess last fall & hav...

Re: New season, new rider.

Okay, you may not be aware that we just lost all single track trails the the Ghost area approx 1500 Kilometers. McLean Creek could have gone the same way. We have come up with a game plan to make McLean an excellent single track riding area. This all just came down last spring, the club has $45,000 ...

Re: New season, new rider.

That would not be a good idea.McLean Creek has a new trail system in place which I have produced [single track trails] for the SRD. The RMDRA has been a huge part of this process & we are currently GPSing all of the trails for SRD, this is 90% complete at this point. Creating a GPS track that is not...

Re: Hot Topic

Brass I run an KTM XC 200 and never boiled it once last year & I'm very hard on the clutch, just running coolant/water 50/50, but it is very important on 2 strokes to run only Shell Gold in it. Most premium gas these days is cut with stuff that makes 2 strokes Knock, ping & generally run hot. Along ...

Re: New season, new rider.

Alot of riders are running 2 strokes in the bush around here. Keep in mind if you go with an MX bike you will need a gas tank, sprocket [ to gear it down] o-ring chain, 18" rear rim & spoke kit, re valve the forks & shock for the wet roots & rocks. No lighting coil, no kick stand either. When you fac...

Re: Bike decision help - KTM 300xc or 300xcw or 450xc-f

Jamie forget about the 450 xc-f, its a brute. Go for the xc 300, you will love the tranny except when you are pinned down a road - the xcw will go by you like you are parked.Lots of options to set up the motor to run the way you like it, with a hit or be very smooth almost like a 4 stroke - Power va...
