Re: New to Alberta - where to ride?

Welcome! Starting to feel like spring now! Things dont really dry out in the mountains till mid or late may ( depending on weather) lol. McLean offers alot of technical riding once you get to know the area. You could try joining the club if your looking for a start to find riding partners, and the m...

Re: A New Chapter -KTM 690 Set Up

It's lighter and quieter, although I only run it with the insert. Also came with a little muffler key chain and a t-shirt so  I'll post some pictures when I get my shipment from dualsportplus. Im sure I'll upgrade to the wings once I get busy with work again, as it's still relatively quit...

Re: A New Chapter -KTM 690 Set Up

Nice write up! I recently picked up a 2012 ktm 690 to keep me busy when I'm not on the dirt bike. Definitely stuff to learn about these bikes to keep on top of them! So far iv only upgraded air filter to twin air, and added a O2 dongle. Ordered the new waterproof wolfman e12 saddle bags. Are you st...

Re: Chest protectors

I'll have to check out the TLD gear as i have been quite happy with my knee/shin pads.

Would the roost guards still protect decent for singletrack use?

Chest protectors

With all the different options, just wondering what everyone wears, if they do, for chest protectors.

Iv been riding years myself without one, but I'm looking for something light, breathable with good maneuverability. Not to keen on shoulder protectors.

2008 Ktm 250 xcw

2008 ktm 250 xcw. Alot of work put into it last spring to make it new again. I'm a mechanic by trade so anything that needs attention, gets replaced. New crank with bearings/seals New Vertex top end (ktm factory piston) Sx head (higher compression, better low end power) Fmf gnarly pipe Fmf stealth s...

Re: 2008 300XCW Service Manual - Anybody have one?

I about to tear into the engine on a friend's 2008 KTM 300XC-W; the bike has been horribly neglected, the air filter split and there is 1/8" of grit in the carb mouth. The rest of the bike is just as thrashed so it may end up on the scrap heap, we'll see. I offered to assist by assessing the damage...

2014 yz450f $4500!

Bike has only been used 3 times last summer, and only started occasionally this season. Mechanic owned. I have a new bike, and dont use this bike. Need the garage space! I bought this fuel injected yamaha yz450f from cycleworks in 2014. Amazing bike and tons of power, big difference from the carbura...

Re: Ktm 250 xcw head mod

Awesome thanks for information! I ended up finding sx head on eBay for 100$ shipped here so pulled the trigger on it. I also ordered new top-end kit from fort nine (199$ on sale right now) and vforce4 reeds. Currently 140psi compression right now, not sure what a healthy number would be for our alti...

Re: Ktm 250 xcw head mod

I've always just used a KTM SX head because the compression is so low here at 5,000+ ASL. I am intrigued by the RKTek head as well but haven't been willing to deal with getting the part from the US. Is it as simple as finding sx head on eBay swapping and maybe change some jetting if necessary? Was ...

Ktm 250 xcw head mod

Hi guys, I recently picked up a project bike for a new woods weapon. It's a 2008 ktm 250 xcw, just wondering what other guys have done for head work. Iv read about putting on sx head, slavens head, rktek head ( little more pricey). What have other guys done with success that they would suggest? Than...
