Re: Women’s Bike Suggestions
I know you mentioned that a KTM would be out of the budget, but I just thought I would put down my experience getting a bike for my wife. We went through several bikes for her, and have now landed on a 2017 KTM 150XC-W which had the suspension lowered 2" via spring cutting, and then had it revalved....

Re: Hello
Haha, I hear ya, but don't be fooled just cause its called a 450. 39 hp is less than a new 250 MX bike has stock. Which in the woods was never enough for me and my fat butt. Steep hill climbs could be a struggle, and wasn't always the easiest to lift the front end over obstacles unless I was using p...

Re: Hello
Welcome. If you find yourself looking for a little more power on the EXCF - apparently there is 12 hp to gain through a few mods. Out of the crate they are supposed to have 39 hp and by removing the reed cage in the air boot, swapping the exhaust out for the SX-F exhaust, and then adding a tuner box...

Honda Motor/Tranny Oil
Just sold the last Honda in the family, and have left over oil that I bought a couple months ago. It is the gold/silver bottles of 10W-40 HP4 and HP4M for use in dirt bike trannys and motors.
I paid $35 for a liter of each. Asking $20.
Thanks,
Rob

Re: Fuel-Injected KTM Two-Strokes Coming in '18
Ya and I think it will only be 1 TPI bike per dealer, and I believe every one of them has a waiting list 30 people long. 99% chance if you aren't 1 or 2 on the list, you won't be getting a TPI bike until the 2019's come out.

Re: Valve Cover Bolts
I have stripped out swing rear axle adjuster bolts from a swing arm before. Took it to a shop in town and they used these keen-serts. Not sure why they preferred them over anything else. They worked great though, no issues. I had it done by a shop so that the drill out and placement was spot on. htt...

Re: Kooc closures
Cameron Westhead. Apparently had a meeting with ranchers of big horn MD looking to close the entire west side of the riding area. I guess that would mean the entire transalta road would be closed.

Re: Do you Rekluse?
I don't really see the point of rekluses, now that e-starts are a big thing and modern 2T's are so good. The 300's keep running so low it almost feels like double digit RPM. And so much power that second gear is just a jack of all trades. I guess if you are really in love with your 250 4T then maybe...

Re: Looking for 2017 300 Jetting Advice
This won't be much of a help, but I slapped a Lectron on from day 1 with the bike. It needed some sorting out and wasnt perfect, but the bike pulls super hard now. Good off idle response, but I still have it a touch rich so itll load up if it idles for a long time. Going to be swapping to a gnarly p...

Re: Best Woods Bike for Shorter Women
Where is there an OSSA dealer in Calgary? That is an interesting idea. With lights and an e-start that would be a great solution! I think we may have settled on a lowered 150XCW. Don at pro action says he can take 2-2.5" out of it which should get us close to her Honda 150R in terms of seat height. ...

Re: Kooc closures
What a disappointment. With these closures, the castle closures, and now word of an MLA wanting to shut down a bunch of riding in the Ghost/Waiparous area, it seems like one can almost see the end of the great trail riding we have at our fingertips here in Calgary.

Re: Best Woods Bike for Shorter Women
I never thought of the freeride! Looks like I could get it in that 34.5" seat height range with a lowering kit. Anyone have feedback on how bad vibrations are? Doesn't look like it has the same updated motor with counter balance shaft as the '17's. Also is the carb fairly forgiving with elevation/te...
