Re: Trailer vs Toy Hauler

Interesting topic, so many different options! I’ve agonized over travel trailer vs toy hauler, and continue to do so… I have a family of 5 with fairly young kids, and the trailer gets used more for non-moto family vacations than it does for moto trips/races. I ended up with a nice 33 foot quad bunk ...

Re: Ktm 250 xcw head mod

I put an SX head on my 2012 xcw last year, I also put a 52T rear sprocket on at the same time. The combination livened it up a fair bit and I ended up going to the green power valve spring to soften things up a bit (had the red spring in before). I also put the cooler SX spark plug in around mid sea...

Re: Has anyone tried the Leatt helmets?

I bought one of the "new" 5.5 ones about 3 months ago, it's the newer style that's not Dot rated, only ece, so it has a lighter weight shell than the older Dot 5.5. It fits my head really well, is comfortable, light weight, and extremely well vented. I like the additional safety features as well. De...

Re: Areas to ride outside of OHV Ban?

Afaik it's the Osbornes, as in private property, not an area called "Osbourne".

Re: Areas to ride outside of OHV Ban?

There is single track south of Rocky, and plenty of quad trails as well. Lots to ride, plenty to explore outside of those Pluz maps.

Re: Travel Trailer Frame Cracks

welding up the cracks and plating over them I understand, but not sure how I would add lateral stiffness, unless you mean actually adding a brace across the width of the trailer from one frame rail to the other, in front and behind the axles?

Helmet design - fyi

Hey all, I wanted to give you a quick heads up on helmets. Earlier this year I bought a fancy new expensive carbon fiber, sexy helmet, without thinking too much about actual safety and design. A couple of weeks ago I thumped my head on a stout low hanging branch at fairly low speed (first gear, mid ...

Re: Travel Trailer Frame Cracks

Add me to the frame cracks pile. Earlier this year I bought a used 2012 Forest River Rockwood. It is overall in great shape, though I knew it had a decent amount of highway miles on it since it was on the second set of tires, and the PO told me so, lol. After I bought it I noticed some cracks in the...

Re: Additional Castle Information Sessions

Excellent points and questions. We all know the answer to every single one is: "Because the NDP government has an ideological agenda that aligns with that of extreme environmental protectionist zealots." You should send that list to Mr. Pat Stier, and the AOHVA, such great input should be shared far...

Kenda IBEX

Anybody try one of these? Someone (who sells them) recently told me its the best tire ever for single track.... I'm skeptical, surely if they were that awesome there would be rave reviews all over, but I can't find anything. Does anyone have first hand experience with it?

Re: Chain Break tool?

For setting the master link, I've found a small socket over the pin and a small c-clamp work great, no problems getting the clip on after as you can fully seat the pins with ease.

Re: Kamloops Riding Area Map

I stayed in a tent at the Duffy lake campground a few weeks ago, was a great facility with lots of nice sites, an abundance of clean outhouses, and cheap too ($12/night). Granted it's the only campground I've stayed at in the area, but I'd have no hesitation in going there again, in fact I'll most l...
