I guess its gonna depend on your riding style. For me, if I get stuck on a hill on my underpowered old style 2 stroke, I have to wind the motor up, spin the wheel, burn the clutch and pedal like a monkey. Turns out the replacement stator source coil I installled in the identical configuration to the original worked better when it was flipped 180 degrees. I took a MAP torch to the expansion chamber to burn out any spooge - smoke came out both ends. The can looked clear and its just a straight through with a can to hold the packing. You could be right though, i'll see if it will kick without the pipes
