Re: HELP! Thread insert - helicoil

Just checked my set and I only have 12mm and larger. Sorry. This doesnt fix your problem and it isnt always possible/practical but thought Id throw it out there anyway. Threaded holes in frames, cases, engine blocks are always subject to damage every time a fastener is threaded into the hole. On my ...

Re: Chains and Sprockets?

A good tip I picked up is to remove the shock (easy on PDS) and cycle the swingarm, ensuring no binding, set the chain tension. When I got my first mx bike back in the early 80s went through several drive line components in the first year and couldnt figure it out. my dad got sick of paying and did...

Re: Battery Charger

The size of charger helps in that discussion. i do have a 12V charger for my trailer batteries, hence series. i want to hook up 3 separate motorcycle batteries to the battery tender. What size (gauge) wire can i get away with in hooking them all up in pa...

Re: Battery Charger

^^^^ Exactly. If you hook them in parallel the bank voltage will remain the same as each individual battery, in series the voltage is additive. Two 6 volt batteries in parallel will produce 6 volts, two 6 volt batteries in series will produce 12 volts. If you had two 12 volt batteries in series a 12...

Re: Battery Charger

I charge all my batteries up, verify the same voltage within a tenth or two, connect them all in parallel, hook up a "smart charger" and forget them for the winter.

Re: Fastway F5 serrated insert tool

Also, I like to replace the pin that holds the pegs on the bike with a bolt and a nylon nut on it. It keeps the ears together better (and the holes from elongating) as these pegs tend to do that to the mounting brackets on the frame. Haven't had an issue with that since I started using the bolts bu...
