Re: Porcupine hills
Hey guys, wre the old trails still ride-able? I've not been out since the NDP marked out designated trails and would like to spend a couple weeks out there. I figure the designated trails will be good for my daughter and granddaughter but don't look all that challenging. I used to ride at porks year...

Re: Livingstone and Porcupine Hills Public Land Use Zones Established
Thanks for the response, it's about what I figured. And yes, I'm well aware of how the NDP used "science" and statistics to support their zoning. I am hoping that in a couple years, we can petition the provincial government to re-zone castle and porcupine again, but if/when we do get a UCP governmen...

Re: Livingstone and Porcupine Hills Public Land Use Zones Established
Wanted to resurrect this thread and see if there were any RMDRA riders that rode at Porks last summer and can provide any feedback? Are most of the ST trails that we'd ride in the past now closed? Looking for a general feel for the value of heading to porcupine hills for a long weekend or a week to ...

Re: Rocks and logs tire recommendations?
I think those Dunlop AT81EX will be money. I bought two.. Haven't tried them yet. I put them beside a new Kenda Ibex and the Dunlop are a lot softer and substantially "stickier". Don't expect them to last long though. Just picked up an AT81EX and the best way I describe them is they are like "gummy...

Re: Livingstone and Porcupine Hills Public Land Use Zones Established
Survey closed on April 26th and the results have been compiled, analyzed, and implemented within 19 days? I'm having a difficult time not expressing how I really feel but there must be some type of legitimate court challenge that can raised, or is it one of those things where our elected government ...

Indian Graves for OHV
Have the day off tomorrow May 29th and was going to ride McLean but need to change plans. Is Indian Graves still open to OHV?
Thanks,

PW50 on crown land
Hey all, Anyone have experience with Alberta Conservation Officers and kids riding PW50's? Just bought one for the grand-kids and although I don't expect them to be riding the trails anytime soon, riding around the camp site at places like McLean off-road loop, or dry camping at Porks or Dutch is li...

Re: I got written warning on Sunday.
Been stopped and checked a few times this year and the officers were very friendly, pointed out I should have my lights attached, and once I did not have my registration card with me but the sticker was on my plate so they gave me a written warning. I'm very happy to see the level of enforcement and...

Re: Diesel Vs Big Gasser
I was faced with gas vs diesel last year. I tow my trailer with 2 bikes in the box about 6-8X per season, usually trips ranging from 500 - 3000 km both ways. I also haul water though at least once a week in the box with a total weight of ~ 3000 lbs so the 1 tonne was necessary. In the end, I purchas...

2 wheel riding suggestions -Blairmore/Coleman
Heading south this weekend and staying around Blairmore and I've never had the bikes down there. We have both plated and non-plated dirtbiles so a few questions: 1. Suggestions on a good mix of beginner to advanced riding, preferably ST. It will be the wife and I, and another couple with lots of BC ...

Rode McLeans last Saturday and the light dusting of snow from Thursday night was gone, but it was EARLY SPRING wet!!! Oh, and those puddles are cold when you take a dive in them.

Re: 2013 Western XC Championship
Never raced this one, but plan on heading out Thursday evening. Should I have any concerns fining a camp spot? Also, just to confirm that 40B ride Sunday correct?
Thanks,
Scott

Re: Coulee Springs Race
Wow, that was really a fun race. Not being an MX guy, I really struggled on the MX part of the track, especially the lack of berms and the soft, deep, dry dirt. I think I'm still blowing dirt out my nose! :) The grass part of the track was awesome, and it was the one part of the track where I was ab...
