Re: Forking Seals!
If you're not already, I always use the socks to put over the forks. Covering the machined surface is paramount in my opinion considering the conditions we ride. Its not like we put dirt over our pistons before we slide them in the cylinder right.

Little black O-ring? carb 36mm pwk 2015 300xcw
Can't see that well up close so need some help with little carb parts. 2015 300 xcw stock carb is Keihin 36S AG I removed pilot jet, starter jet, needle and main jet. 1) After cleaning my carb I found a little black O-ring in the bucket of gasoline. Anyone know where it goes? I did not remove the je...

Re: Smart Carb
It does work but many people including myself with CR500's have turned in their Billet Smart Carbs for Ron McCord's Pulse Injection System. Pulse Injection has been giving more torque for turning a track. Pulse Injection catches the reversion pressure wave from the piston & intake port and directs t...

Re: Wood Ticks & warm weather
After more research, there are a lot of big horn sheep around the hot springs of radium. The ticks love big horn sheep and thats why there are so many on us in a 20 minute hike. The big horn sheep frequent the old lodge area & trails across the highway from the hot pool. Where ever there is a lot of...

Wood Ticks & warm weather
Wow, we stopped at Radium Hot Springs, went for a small hike after and had a dozen or so wood ticks on our clothes and in the hair on our heads. Anyone known issues with Lyme disease in the foothills? 1 out of 100 ticks might have it. I always here stories. This warm spring will bring a lot more.

Re: Ktm 300 xc jetting
For what is worth I finally got the 2015 300 XC-W where I really like it. It was pig rich from the dealer and unresponsive. The NECJ needle was the real difference maker for me. Stock 35PJ, now same 35 PJ Stock 7.0, now 8.0 throttle slide cutaway Stock N8RG, now NECJ needle (the NECJ is a Suzuki tri...

Re: Ktm 300 xc jetting
Yeah I had Smartcarb for the CR500 but it was a $900 mistake. Maybe I can return it as my year is coming up quickly. APT are really onto something but someone with deeper pockets should develop it. As for the XC-W, the top end is working great (but I will go down to 162 or even 160), but its sputter...

Re: Ktm 300 xc jetting
I got the 2015 300 XC-W, it came with a 35 pilot, 7.0 slide, NECG and NECH needle, 165 main. Both are too rich for Maclean. I will be trying the NECJ or N3EJ or N8CJ
If none of those work (I'm sure they will) then onto that 38mm Billet Smartcarb collecting dust on the shelf.

Interest in parts from a complete 2005 KTM 525 SX?
Anyone interested in parts from a complete 2005 KTM 525 SX? I can't sell the bike so I will part out the complete bike if there is interest. It has 60 hrs on a Dave Hopkins 532cc built engine and 6 speed close ratio transmission in excellent condition and needs nothing (KTMtalk.com RFS forum). Engin...

Even better, a 1983 CR480 in a hare scramble with a 36mm smartcarb. Seems to be passing the new 4stroke hehe.

Re: Smart Carb
I'm a believer. I have one coming for the CR500, should be shipped April 4. 38mm Cast Unit. I just hope it fits as the 500cc is crammed into a CR125 aluminum frame. Its still a new build and I definitely had jetting issues along with a bad CDI unit last summer so it will be a fresh start. In fact s...
