Any suggestions for crown land camping and riding areas where the camping is not in nodes. My go to place has been Koocanusa but looking for something a little closer. Excellent video. Just about got to Moon Rock yesterday but ran out of time. Rode Barwell Ridge and 1st Ridge for the first time. It was a blast! We'll be exploring Moon Rock next time out.

You may want to try Fallen Timber Ridge area. It's about 1 3/4 hours drive from Calgary. I have an '04 wr250 and damaged the seals by strapping my bike down too tight. In fact I damaged my son's XR250 fork seals too. It costs about $350 for a pair to have a shop do it. I now use a shock saver which you place between the tire and the underside of the front fender, then tie down the bike....

Well....day 2 at Koocanusa was fantastic also. Rode another 50km. No RCMP and no Conservation officers. Spoke with a few riders and they had not seen anyone also.
