Camping locations suggestions that are not nodes

Any suggestions for crown land camping and riding areas where the camping is not in nodes. My go to place has been Koocanusa but looking for something a little closer. Livingston appears to be node campsites. I was at Porcupine Hills about 10 years ago and it was great but what is it like now? Falle...

Steamboat/Invermere riding and camping area??

Could use some help finding a good riding and (random) RV camping area in the Radium area. I have never dirt biked or camped out there but have heard lots about it. I will also have kayaks with me so any suggestions regarding that would also be helpful. Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Long ...

Dusty Grouse guarding it's nest on Cloud Nine

We were riding Cloud Nine on Saturday and came across a very aggressive Grouse right at the point on the trail where there are 3 or 4 logs stacked up. There were three of us there and this Grouse wanted to take us all on! Very funny scene seeing 3 guys with 3 bikes trying to get by this aggressive b...

Re: Around Calgary

Excellent video. Just about got to Moon Rock yesterday but ran out of time. Rode Barwell Ridge and 1st Ridge for the first time. It was a blast! We'll be exploring Moon Rock next time out.

Re: Around Calgary

You may want to try Fallen Timber Ridge area. It's about 1 3/4 hours drive from Calgary. I head North on hwy 22, go 5km past Cremona, turn left at Shell Gas Plant sign , drive about 20 minutes until you arrive at the gas plant. From there you turn right onto the forestry road. No cell coverage past ...

Re: I got a nube question

I have an '04 wr250 and damaged the seals by strapping my bike down too tight. In fact I damaged my son's XR250 fork seals too. It costs about $350 for a pair to have a shop do it. I now use a shock saver which you place between the tire and the underside of the front fender, then tie down the bike....

Re: Kocanusa on the Long Weekend

Sounds like it's not the place to explore. I'll stick to west side which has no shortage of trails. Thanks for the heads up!

Where to ride in Radium?

My friend was out mountain biking at Radium and said she saw a lot of quads and dirt bikes out there. Does anybody know where to ride and camp there? Thanks.

Re: Kocanusa on the Long Weekend

Well....day 2 at Koocanusa was fantastic also. Rode another 50km. No RCMP and no Conservation officers. Spoke with a few riders and they had not seen anyone also. The campgrounds off Dorr Cutoff Road did not have a fire ban. Found a lot of new trails. Does anyone know if you can ride on the east sid...

Kocanusa on the Long Weekend

Just out camping and riding at Koocanusa. The trails are great but there is a fire ban and the conservation officers and RCMP are here. RCMP had set up a check stop right at Dorr Cutoff entrance. The conservation officer told us we could only ride on the roads, no single track or quad trails. He sai...
