Re: Advanced rides on club nights?

If it's not clear, to attend a guided club night ride you need to be a RMDRA member. There is an advanced ride planned for every club night. On busy nights there are typically multiple advanced groups. The level varies from week to week, particularly early in the season as new members figure out whe...

Re: Gear Bag opinions

Both are great. The best gear bag is the Ogio 9900, which Ogio inexplicably discontinued after only a couple years. If you can find one used in good condition (they are on eBay periodically), that's what I'd get. It's basically the superior layout of the Fox Shuttle with the near indestructibility o...

Re: Trailer vs Toy Hauler

I had 3 different travel trailers and hauled my motorcycles in the truck bed along with a bunch of other stuff. I used to hate having to unhook the trailer and unload. So I bought an Outback 210RS toy hauler and it was nice. But I kept thinking to myself why was I so special that the bike can't rid...

Re: Trailer vs Toy Hauler

If you really want some good input reach out to Robert (RJHenry) and I'm certain he will regale you with stories. He's done alot of pulling a smaller toyhauler with 2 adult bikes and 2 kids bikes using a F150. I believe his trailer is/was a Hyperlite XLR 27HFS.

Re: Trailer vs Toy Hauler

You're probably heard this, but the 1/2 ton truck may be your biggest problem. As you've mentioned, once you put the bikes in the box (if you can fit them all) you're almost guaranteed to be over your rear axle and/or payload rating once you put a trailer suitable for a family of four on the hitch. ...

Re: Do you lube your throttle tube?

I'll point out this guy was servicing a MX bike with closed end grips. With closed end grips, it's a maybe as the throttle tube is fairly well sealed. With bark busters and open end grips, it would be a different story.

Did you just agree with me? I'm pleased you're following the doctors orders and taking your meds.

Re: Rear sprocket size

A few more comments. -Almost no one can truly tell the difference (~2%) between 1 tooth on the rear, even 2 teeth on the rear is relatively small. To get a sense for how small a change this is, If you're turning 4000rpm for a certain speed with 13/50, for the same speed you'll be turning 4080rpm wit...

Re: New to the club.. hope I can keep up!

Have not rode for 2 years but cant wait to join you guys for a ride! Will i need bark busters? I got a CRF450x... brappp! While hand protection is highly recommended, it's not mandatory. And don't worry about being able to keep up. Just as there's always someone faster than you, there's also someon...

Re: Fan Kit

I know you use a rekluse. They tend to get the bike hotter due to the clutch slipping. The way rekluse recommends then be set up isn’t good for our riding. Check the set up guide set it for low engagement rpm and hard engagement, this should help with overheating as the clutch will slip less. Disag...

Re: Panorama Harescramble 2018

I am planning on attending but have never been in a race before... Can anyone tell me how it works? I assume since I am inexperienced I will just sign up for B loop? My wife was looking to race as well, is the ladies junior class for <18 ladies? So I am guessing she should register for beginner lad...

Re: PW50 Question

I found a nice set of bent forks while washing the PW50 this weekend. Not sure how or when he did this. The bike hasn’t even had it’s first oil change.... Looks like he needs Cone Valves. :smirk: Stop making silly suggestions, you know they don't make cone valves for Yamaha's. Clearly he should inv...

Re: Albert Parks cancels volunteer programs

The part that scares me is "assess all volunteer activities to ensure they comply with the same occupational health and safety standards as parks staff." I sure hope this doesn't mean that because parks staff can't (I'm assuming) ride a dirt bike with a chainsaw, then we can't. Or that to use an OHV...

Re: Which GPS?

Even though I'm a big fan of the Oregon 600 (or 650 if you like), if I was looking for a new GPS I'd just find a cheap used iPhone 6 and get a protective case. You can download whatever maps you need on WiFi and the GPS doesn't require data. As for the SIM card issue, unless our friends at Apple hav...
