Re: RMX450
You had to bring up the Swauten bike. Damn you people with money. My wife will kill me if start thinking about a 390.
Re: RMX450
All the extra money you save will be spent on the upgrades that are already included with a Don't get me wrong, I like my KTM 400XCW, mainly cause it handles like my Honda CRF250x and the power delivery is similar but just with more twist in the throttle. That being said... -I never touched the jet...
Re: RMX450
Steve-o, the neighbours are going to get restless now. Contrary to some opinions the Japanese bikes are not all sludge. I just spent 4 years on a Honda CRF250x and have no complaints whatsoever with it. And yes I did just buy a KTM400 but that's because I didn't want a 450. Brass, don't know much ab...

Re: Rekluse Dual Rear Brake Install
Thanks Derek.
I got it to work. Apparently it was the powder coating on the master cylinder sleeve. I used a wire wheel to take most of the powder coating of the threads and it then threaded in fine.

Rekluse Dual Rear Brake Install
I am trying to install a Rekluse Dual Rear Brake kit (RMS511) on my 09 400XCW but the Rekluse master cylinder sleeve will not thread into the master cylinder. I've checked (several times) to ensure I have the new style Brembo master cylinder and it is the new one (per Cycle Buy illustration). The Re...

Re: ChevMack is my name... literally
Chev, Glad to hear your story of getting into it. Brings back fond memories. With Jason as your friend in your future I see a) more friends, b) harder trails, c) sleeping in the truck (or as Jason calls it camping). Look forward to meeting you on the trails and watching you ride the monster you boug...

Addictions
So it's getting near the end :crybaby: of my fourth season dirt biking and I got to thinking. Who would have thought thinking was so easy, I should have tried this years ago. Back to the point, I have realized that I AM ADDICTED TO DIRT BIKING. That first step feels good. How do I know I'm an addict...

Clutch Replacement Time
My clutch is now starting to slip. Do I need to replace both the friciton plates and drive plates? Yes/No/Maybe and is there any way to measure the plates for too much wear? Before anyone asks, yes I have a Rekluse and I've checked to make sure it is adjusted correctly. And if any one is interested ...

Re: Starter woes
Dirtyboy, I really think this is a case of everyone over complicating a simple situation. Buy a brand new bike, problem solved -).

Re: Valve train tip for the first timer
Yeah my engine. If you bring your bike though I'll do a two for one deal. I'm real good at checking and shimming valves on two strokes, I almost never get them wrong.

Re: Valve train tip for the first timer
Dave, I'll gladly to it for the club, but I still want to make Dallas (not the club) buy me beer. Imagine all the fun that could be had if I'm tipsy and drop things down the cam tower.

Re: Valve train tip for the first timer
Is there a beer in it for me or are you expecting pro bono work? For two beers I might even be convinced to show how to re-shim.

Valve train tip for the first timer
I just replaced and shimmed my valves for the first time. For any one who hasn't checked/shimmed their own valves before and isn't sure if they can do it, the answer is you can. You only need a socket set, a torque wrench and feeler gauges. I was surprised how easy it was (particularly with a single...

Re: what gps to buy
I've got a Garmin Vista Cx (bought it before the HCx came out). It works great and it's a small size. The 60CSx is also great just a little bigger. My thought is unless you need the bigger size the Vista HCx is the way to go as it now has reception similar to the 60CSx. I keep mine mounted on a ram ...

Re: KTM forum newbie
Hey Quint Buddy, I was wondering when you'd get on the forum. Tell your dad your big enough to ride the 105 and he should get you one before the season starts. Two things-if you're big enough to pick the bike up you're big enough to ride it, you can always find a way to get on it, and second if you ...
