I might not be able to explain why the Rekluse can be useful crossing logs, but the empirical evidence indica...

Re: Rekluse or not?

The really really nice thing, about the way our bikes come out of the box, is that it takes a brain and fingers to operate. For most of us that means the way the cluch can be engaged and disengaged is virtually limitless, STOCK! It makes no sense to me to pay $$$ for something that may help tempora...

Re: Rekluse or not?

An auto clutch is constantly engaging/disengaging with the rpm being rised & lowered with every twist of the throttle.A couple of my riding buddies have noticed their bikes boiled over faster with the autoclutch. This makes me thinking your buddies have their clutches adjusted incorrectly for the t...

Re: Rekluse or not?

Bruce, one other thing to consider is engines run hotter with an auto clutch. I don't necessarily agree with this, particularly if you are not an expert with a manual clutch. My feeling is that non experts often over slip the clutch, creating more heat, in an effort to avoid stalling. If the rider ...

Re: Waiporous March 14

Is there a big difference between Cast aluminum and Machined aluminum for strength? The engineer in me can't resist. The real answer is depends and can't really be answered without a fair bit of information. This is the cop out answer though. I think the real question you are asking is: I don't wan...

Re: Waiporous March 14

I wouldn't bother with fixing the old one unless you want a spare. The OEM ones might be extremely light, but that's because they are thin and fragile magnesium. Get a billet aluminum one-SFB, Hinson, Rekluse, Boyesen are readily available and should all meet your needs. I'd buy which ever is the ch...

Re: Steering Stabilizers ? Worth the Cost?

Rode with a damper (Motosportz) out at Wild Rose today. First time ever riding with a damper. I really couldn't tell it was on the bike, but it was the first time I can remember riding for an extended period without my right hand going numb. Don't know if it was the damper but this was encouraging. ...

Re: 2010 ADRA Rulebook

Fixed vet class error on spreadsheet. I think Rock93 is correct. I would hope the competition committee would use their discrection for exceptions (given in the rules) in cases where people were bumped as a result of low turnout at a race. I was going to start racing in Kids Beginner :) , but in rea...

Re: 2010 ADRA Rulebook

Sort of, I think...The way I read it is advancement is only at the end of the series (I assume the race season). If the person only raced one race and finished in the top three, they would advance for the next series. But, if you raced 4 races and finished 2nd, 3rd, 4th, 18th (or 4th or worse) you w...

Re: Progressive spring question

Bruce, where did you get the spring from? Also, I can't seem to find the "You're how heavy, you freakin pig / progressive rear spring" model you purchased anywhere but it sounds like the one I need.

Re: Bike Selection Dilemma

My two cents on the four strokes as I'm not a two stroke guy. • The WR450 is a good bike that you can find at a great price. They have proven durable and parts are a plenty with lots of them on the trail. • The KLX450 is basically in the same boat as the WR with fewer on the trail and maybe less par...

Welcome.

You could get a Honda. CRF250x's are great for beginners + up and comers. I just happen to know someone with one for sale.
