I tried 2 registries that denied it. Then Went to AMA with the wife and they put it through. Once we made it very clear to them it was OHV only it was no issue at all putting it through.

This. Just try a different registry.

Re: Sound Testing

The FIM recommends the "2 metre Max" method.

The mic is 2m away from the exhaust outlet at 45 degrees, and the motorcycle is help at max RPM for 1 second.

Re: Sound Testing

Well, it depends :D Some 450s are quieter (Honda) or louder (Kawasaki) with KTMs somewhere in the middle? Most bikes should pass the FIM test that's randomly employed now. For the spark arrestor it is not required to deviate from stock, but encouraged. We all want to be responsible in our new enviro...

Re: Forking Seals!

Also check and reset fork alignment, especially after the rider, err bike, takes a trail nap - lots of YouTube vids on that. X2 While I don't check the alignment that often (only when the wheel comes off), IMHO the axle alignment is one of the biggest reasons seals go bad. I'm good for well over 20...

Edit to add: semantics my friend, semantics. You named by association!

Seriously, a recluse helps in certain situations, hinders in others. Each riders choice based on weaknesses and strength s of the bike/rider combo.

Hunny nut Cheerios are always appropriate.

Re: Do you Rekluse?

Category 3. every decent rider on the planet. Wait, did you just criticize people for referring to people that don't use one (Chris Birch) but then refer to fast guys in AB that do use one???? (Jason Schrage, but he doesn't count that Honda needs all the help it can get). Dementia setting in there ...

Re: KTM EFI 2 strokes

I don't have to go back too many years, and these comments are exactly the same as the concerns people had for four stroke bikes. :D  I can't think of a single time I would ever trade my 2017 450 for a 2012 or prior. Keihin FCR? I'd use it as a paper weight  I'm sure they can save 3 or ...

Re: KTM EFI 2 strokes

This is without a doubt the biggest thing to happen to off road motorcycles since the 1998 YZ400F.

Awesome, I bet they're hard to come by...Might have to put some $$ down at Cycleworks

Re: OHV equipment act / What does my bike need ??

I appreciate folks trying to get by with bicycle lights and such, however this might be an area to spend the $ on good gear that serves more purpose, and avoids a fine /arguments with CO's. I agree with the sentiment 100%, although I do use battery powered lights. The bikes I choose seem to struggl...

Re: OHV equipment act / What does my bike need ??

We got hassled by the man on Saturday. I was a bit dismayed to hear that the CO didn't know what the law actually says and she said the light had to illuminate 60 meters, when the law actually says the light has to be visible to 60 meters. There is a BIG difference between those two statements. Whe...

Re: 2015 ktm 65sx jetting.

Lots of good info by trailguy. My sons 2015 runs pretty well I think. Air screw is critical as always, I use a Nihilo one that comes with a long ball drive allen key to set it up. Once set up it hasn't fouled a plug since. Lots of good info on the jetting on KTM talk, popular set ups like LCP can be...

Re: Maclean update

Hopefully, Guided rides is put on hold for a while if Maclean outings were planned over the next few weeks? I think waiting until June would be a prudent, but unpopular decision by our club in light of the microscope we are now under because of impending Castle closures and the social media surroun...
