Motorcyclists Confederation of Canada - Trail Riding Safety Videos

Hello all, Please have a look at the you tube links for some videos by the Motorcyclists Confederation of Canada. A lot of work went into them, and they are designed to keep riders safe. Of course the focus is for those new to the sport, but it sure doesn't hurt to watch them. With a growing focus o...

Re: Penny Tech composite boot repair

Where to buy the Poly Seam sealer? I have a pair of SG-12s where the shifter has worn the plastic top side of the boot, and I'd like to patch before its a hole...

Re: Winter bar mitt sliders

Good tip for sure, mitts like to stick to the trees :D

I haven't been doing much riding this winter, but I sure like the mitts when I do. Best part is keeping those grips nice and dry...

Re: 2015 KTM XC-F Mud in Crankcase - Engine Rebuilders?

Buddy sucked water in the engine via the breather tube and bike quit. Drained oil and found muddy water in it; the oil screen was caked with clay. Thanks in advance! This is a real sludge shoot IMO. How long did it sit with water in it? I assume this is a 250/350 by the breather tube? The cams ride...

Re: KTM 790 Adventure

Hey Geoff, didn't you take my 950SER for a ride to 'test' it? How was that compared to 1190? i still think pound for pound, the 950SER is the best dual sport dirt happy bike ever made. Range is only 180kms, but with one rotopax i am good for 240kms at any speed. Too bad they are no longer made. Hi ...

Re: KTM 790 Adventure

My XRR is about 300 dry without goodies. 26L tank, almost 400km range. And the tank only cost like $200 used! Those 690 tanks are pricey. Did a 6500km trip up the Continental Divide on it years back. Oil changes at 2k, filters at 4k. No doubt an awesome bike, but no E start... :D I'm at a point whe...

Re: KTM 790 Adventure

I've been following this closely on the net. I have to say, it looks absolutely awesome. Looking forward to a release, and also to see the new 790 LC8c in the hands of Duke owners for some real life reviews. There's a lot of opinions and speculation out there, it's hard to separate fact from fiction...

Re: I need to borrow a clutch basket tool

Absolutely zero issues with the bolts I've done and peened. A standard center punch is all you need. Just support the basket firmly, and don't go all Gorilla on it, it really doesn't take much. I've never seen red locktight fail (used correctly e.g.clean bolt) I personally would only use heavy sprin...

Re: I need to borrow a clutch basket tool

You can use a piece of aluminum to jam the basket and primary gear (Motion Pro actually sells a tool) or alternatively shift into 5/6 gear and lock the rear tire with a broom handle. The basket holders aren't a perfect solution, as you have to be quite careful not to damage the basket. Often times I...

Re: 2017 TE300 Forks?

Well, I am a steer now, so maybe it's the one for me?? Or maybe its a YZ250X. I'm torn... The only experience I have with the explore forks was at the demo ride on the XCWs. I have to say that they were really god, and the track had enough hack (I think) to tell. The only downsides I can think of a...

Re: Off Road Insurance

I used the info on this thread, and ended up with Intact. Touchstone was/is the broker, and were great to deal with.

Re: Where do you send your aer48 air forks for revalve

The suspension needs time to break in. After 10 or 20 hours re-evaluate and go from there. I was going to say this as well. The new KTM air fork is killer right out of the box. The clickers also provide a huge range of adjustability, and with the near limitless spring rates it's very tunable. It's ...
