Re: Penny Tech (TM) - KTM AC lighting circuit - cheap DC power

Yep, you are tied into a regulated circuit. For sure the regulator acts as a sink to ground. All good my friends. If ever have a need to dim a led you must use a technique know as PWM( pulse width modulation) and it requires some electronics to work. It also used a lot in the 7.3 power strokes to re...

Re: Penny Tech (TM) - KTM AC lighting circuit - cheap DC power

Nice. You mentioned are hooking into the un-regulated AC directly off the stator. I have a feeling you are tapped into a regulated AC lighting circuit(this is good), I thought the XC's had from factory. Just want to be clear so guys don't have a recti"fire" under the gas tank . If y...

Posting the templates I used to make the headlight mounting bracket and cut the hole in the factory mask. You may need to scale the PDF when printing to get the poepor sizing. The measurements on the attached image can be used for a reference. You will need to fab a upper and lower bracket, The moun...

Re: KTM Carb Heater Install

Never need heat on a 4t carb. If it's a snow bike maybe that's a different story. Others here have a lot of experience with snowbike setup. Wast of time for single track winter riding above -15c.

Here are the links to all the details, its a long read but alot of the usual peanut gallery noise. The guy that seems to know some stuff about 4CS (Terry Hay is a auzzie tuner) so really pay attention to his posts. https://thumpertalk.com/forums/topic/1140457-ktm-4cs/?page=2 http://ktmtalk.com/showt...

Re: 4CS fork revalve question

You can fix the forks for about $200 to $400 if you are handy and depending on your comfort level. In the end you will have a setup that is similar to what Kreft offers, and will perform 80% of what a pro tuner can offer. I will dig up some details tomorrow. The 4cs are really easy to work on. My 20...

Re: New spark plug fitting on KTM 350 xcfw

loosen the plug until there are just a few threads holding it in, get a piece of hose that fits over the poracelin end of the plug to unsrew it the rest of the way and fish it out with the hose. The hose can also be used to start the plug in the threads. Havent tried this on a KTM but use the same a...

Re: Chain Saw recommendations?

Poulins and echo are throw away saws. They work great, but you may struggle to find parts. Get a consumer grade sthil or husky, maybe you pay a few more dollars upfront but atleast there are parts readly available. The key is a properly sharpened chain, it will reduced wear on you and extend the li...
