Re: Sound Testing

2015 YZ250FX stock exhaust FAILED Idaho City 100 testing in 2016, USFS 96dba limit I believe.
This is the "euro" mx can on the FX models, so is supposedly quieter than North America MX version (YZF).

Re: Forking Seals!

x2 on the seal saver tool - I have the MotionPro and the Risk racing one, the Risk racing one is a bit easier to use, but be gentle. I have had good luck with seals lasting longer by installing the SKF mud scrapers, a lot easier to remove and clean than the neoprene ones, also remember to pull the d...

Re: OHV equipment act / What does my bike need ??

I just mounted my license plate on that fender extension and on the first ride the license plate broke apart and now I have 1/4 of a plate on the rear of my motorcycle. Now I have to pay for another plate. Perhaps they will only fine you 3/4 of the full penalty then? :redneck: As mentioned th...

Transmission repair shop recommendations

Seems to be a few folks here running high mileage pickups... Thought I'd pick your brains. I have a acquired a 06 Ford van that needs a transmission rebuilt. Has anyone used a local re-builder and recommends them? I will pull the trans out, but only want to do this job ONCE. :D I'd spring for an exc...

Re: OHV equipment act / What does my bike need ??

I appreciate folks trying to get by with bicycle lights and such, however this might be an area to spend the $ on good gear that serves more purpose, and avoids a fine /arguments with CO's. My YZFX's didnt come with "enduro" lighting... So to be legal-ish... I like to have a decent headlig...

Re: Rekluse Clutch Set Up

Set it up as per manufacturer recommendations, then tune. On my bike the rekluse was perfect out of the box. But maybe I lucked out. A buddy's non adjustable one was also perfect.

I'll ride my factory legal 'Berg around town, but from experience, a smart traffic cop can easily harsh your mellow on a gray area converted bike.

YMMV

Re: Road plated.

Cool, thanks for the information. Curious to see what SRD and CO's do when a smoker pings by em... Jet it lean!

Anecdotally, from experience, if you get a savvy cop they might really dig into the legality with you. Be polite and play dumb.

Re: X-Ring vs 0-Ring?

For the small $ extra, I always go X-ring. Most OEM are an x ring now too. I prefer to ride my bike not push it, so I also do my chains and sprockets generally earlier than my buddies, no failures on mine yet but the buddies have had a couple, and that makes for a sucky day (and potentially night) f...

Re: Do you Rekluse?

Newer Rekluser here... On my 15 YZ250FX... 270cc kit and hotcams stage making the bike a bit more tractory, did the Rekluse last of the mods, and really, in hindsight, it will be my 1st mod on next bike. For woods, technical the anti-stall behavior sure helps cover off clutching mistakes, regain a l...
