Re: High Compression Head for 300XC

On my YZ 250 I have my squish done (45, and 20.5 dome) along with carb work (wing insert and bored out to 39mm and low speed circuit mods) from RB Designs in the US. Lots of power gained more than any pipe/silencer combo, like not even close. I had to go considerably learner accross the board despit...

Re: Where to ride

Drumheller is dry. But your spikes would likely hinder you there due to the flat rock.

Drumheller Feb 2010

A few buds and I went on saturday, ended up riding for 4 hours! No studs.

Not for the weak hearted at times but some good rubber should keep you pretty strait. Got it on hero cam too.

It was a full mix of snow, mud, puddles, ice, dry grass, wet grass and dry clay!

Werd.

Reminds me of the "ridge" in blackrock, there are some hairy cliff edges on that trail juts like that.

Re: Bike Selection Dilemma

It will be much cheaper to make your 250 slower than a 200 faster which is something to consider. Have you ever owned a 200? I havent personally, no. My friends dad rides one. But the power valve spring is free as it comes with the KTM 250, I think it also has dual maps too so that's free, so one c...

Re: Bike Selection Dilemma

Ok for us to help you more answer these; How strong are you? Any medical weaknesses? I'm not able bench press truck but I can still lift my butt off the couch. What's your stamina like? I'm working on that. Are you looking to pick up a dirt bike cause you have passion for the sport of it or is it o...

Re: Bike Selection Dilemma

Sorry, didn't mean to insult anyone, I just threw the 10 year old comment in there for some comic relief... which I now see could be interpreted as condescending. My bad, I appologize. Anyway, I have been passed (block passed actually), by one particular 11 year old on a 105 a couple of years ago, ...

Re: Bike Selection Dilemma

I think you would have got an overwhelming ktm 200 recommendation if you had mentioned your weight and height from the beginning. Anything bigger than a 250 is the wrong bike for you... unless you want to be that guy who is always holding the group up, even when you are riding with 10 year olds. Ze...

Re: Indian Graves

I was planning on hitting drumheller this weekend to screw around, no studs, figuring it will be pretty dry there since its fairly dry around Calgary and drumheller tends to be even more dry than Calgary.

Re: Bike Selection Dilemma

Thanks everyone for your input, you’ve all had some very good points. I’m a bit surprised that there hasn’t been any comment made about the KTM 150, 200 or 250xc. On paper at least they seem to be very good bikes. Are they not well suited for riding in our area? With the exception of the Berg, all ...

Re: Bike Selection Dilemma

Not trying to rain on your parade man, just putting down my opinions. All those $100, $200 and $500 fixes add up to a chunk of cash in the end. Don't get me wrong, I still miss my YZ, but there are other bikes out there. Ever try and ride out of the bush in the pitch dark with a $5 LED light? I hav...
