Re: Can I borrow your fork seal tools?

You often don't need as many tools as the manual makes you think you need. I will say some tools definitely make it easier and will recommend that you don't force anything. If it's not easy to do, stop, rethink, and maybe wait/buy the tool. I'll take a peak as I might have an old fork cap tool from ...

Re: Singletrack in the dark

2016 350XC-F I also have the Trailtech Fan on an auto switch with low temp setting. 88C I think. No issues. I haven't used it a ton, but for the few night rides I've done, there has been no problems. The last one ended at nearly 2AM. If you want to be on the safe side, run a Lipo battery in a hard c...

Re: Which GPS?

I recently bought another GPS, the Oregon 600. It was a comparison between the 64S and 600. I just recently lost my trusty Oregon 450 on the trails in Revelstoke. That GPS has been with me for A LOT of bumpy adventures. Totalling over 60,000KM of bumpy roads and all weather conditions through 7 coun...

Re: Singletrack in the dark

Is your light bar powering off the battery? Is it always on or switched? 2t or 4t? Yes. It's switched and I attempt to run it only when the bike is running. At night when we stop I have my helmet light going 100% of the time. I use the lightbar only on night rides or to make Fish and Feathers happy...

Re: Singletrack in the dark

Cheap Chinese 18W lightbar mounted high on the bars (important to clear fender and provide light over hills and drops) with spot and flood LED's and run a 10W LED light mounted to my helmet. I can do daytime speeds through the normal and tight stuff. Only slow a bit on the higher speed stuff due to ...

Re: Bikes stolen

The bike's risers, pegs, and rekluse are a dead giveaway. I'll keep an eye out for it on the trails and driving around. Don't have to be precise, but what area of the city were these stolen from? Might help locate as I think many things are stolen locally. My garage door has windows. I keep my bikes...

Re: Area's closing?

It's a formal staging area, so they can't say anything about that.

The problem is likely they know an uncommonly high staging of bikes there, with no legal single track. Doesn't take much to do the math and see they are riding the single track.

Re: 2016 KTM 350 XCF setup

Sounds like you enjoy a very plush set-up. Without sounding negative, do you maybe think you purchased the wrong bike?

The 2017 EXE sounds like a better option.

The XC-F is aggressive. No beating around the bush there.

Re: Temporary Quad Trail Closure - Ghost - West of Waiparous Creek

Thanks RJH. Looking forward to riding that one after it undergoes some needed remediation. If you have not yet, it's 3-5th gear stuff. Very fast, very smooth, very wide. I think they will have issues with drainage/rutting, and need to do improvements in the near future. I won't mention i...

Re: Kamloops Riding Area Map

The way BC marks and provides official numbers, names, ratings for the designated trails, is so much more usefull and easier to follow than Alberta. Thanks for Posting  Yup, the trail ratings are great. It's also being engraved into riders to NOT attempt trails beyond their ability due to...

Re: 2016 KTM 350 XCF setup

It's always interesting hearing people's reports of the 4CS. I think it best be said we should be discussing the 2016. As noted, they vary between years. I can't relate to some of the things you guys are saying about your forks oddly enough. Maybe I need to ride harder to get them to bottom hard, bu...

Sounds like the trails took a thrashing.

Too bad. The races in this area have put a lot of wear and tear on these trails already.

Re: 2016 KTM 350 XCF setup

I'm happy with the following on mine: - KTM hardparts skid plate. Cant' see how this one would fall off. Made by Cycra. - Bullet Proof Rad Guards - Trail tech fan - Helps bike stay cool, and has been helpful in warming climates and the slow days. I feel better keeping the bike cooler, even if it won...
