Re: Kook ride report Dec2

There are a few here and there, mostly just anywhere a singletrack goes straight up a hill that's visible from one of the main roads. It's not going to ruin your day to obey them.

Re: 2015 KTM XC-F Mud in Crankcase - Engine Rebuilders?

If the water was muddy, tear it down, many of the bearings inside are toast. Likely needs a rod too. Been there, done this before. If it sucked clean water from a creek, a series of flushes will clean it out.

Geez, that's nasty. I like to think there is a special place in hell for people like that. Will keep an eye out as I'm always cruising bike listings.

Re: 2012 Ktm 350 XC-F

I should add that my Berg 350 is getting on 180 hrs and has been a stellar bike to date. There are guys on KTM talk with 400+ hrs on these things, they are generally very reliable.

I believe the older cranks can be rebuilt with the newer plain bearings when the time comes.

Re: Head work / Valve Seat Cutting

I'm almost certain that will work for you without issue. Best to check part numbers and do your research though. Does the head come with the camshaft carrier, or can you re-use your parts that are bedded in with your cams?

Re: Head work / Valve Seat Cutting

Oh man that sucks, sorry to hear about this. Guessing the hydraulic tensioner failed on you. Have a look on KTM talk for finding some used parts. If you are replacing the piston and cylinder anyway, consider a 280cc kit from one of the aftermarket companies. If you decide to scrap the bike it will b...

Re: An Observation...Maclean Creek.

I did some clean up work on Area 51 back when there was still snow on the ground, but didn't remove any logs on the ground, just took down some low hangers and knee busters.

Re: Just a little problem... loading and unloading the bike

I generally use a milk crate too, but had a near miss recently when the milk crate slid forward on the asphalt as I stepped up on it. Luckily my shin hit the edge of the tail gate hard enough to stop me from falling. That felt great! I always favored standing to the left of the bike but never though...

Re: Forking Seals!

Next time you replace the seals, carefully inspect the chrome sliders for any nicks or burrs that might be cutting the new seals. Gently file down any sharp spots with a fine file or stone.

Wanted: KTM 250/350 Y-Radiator hose

I'm looking to buy the Y-Shaped hose that connects the bottom of the two radiators to the water pump on recent KTM 250/350 four strokes. The KTM part number is 77235025033. Let me know if you bought some fancy colored hoses and are interested to sell your OEM parts.
